Re: Top 3 things.....

My dd is still very young:

Hardest:
1. going to work and leaving her.
2. when she had a reaction to something and not sure what to do
3. getting over the fear of going out with her alone.

BEST:
1. DD!!!!
2. Unconditional love.
3. She made my life complete, and a self of purpose in this world.

Re: Top 3 things.....

I'll be honest: My DD is only 3 months, so its just the begining I am sure

HARDEST:

1. the way EVERYTHING changed. I knew things would change, and I was preparing for them, but could not imagine just how much.

2. Being with her without my family here. We moved to FL when everyone is in NY. I couldn't immagine how much harder that is!

3. The first two months - really in general. I had baby blues, was in pain, tired from lack of sleeping and basically crying everyday.

BEST:
1. When she smiles

Re: Top 3 things.....

I've only been a mom for 7 weeks but so far...

Hardest:
--The fear that something bad is going to happen to her
--Listening to her cry and not knowing how to fix it
--Getting up every 3 hours to feed her at night

Best
--The love I have for her
--Seeing her smile
--the bond that she had created between me and my DH

DS is almost 14 Months...

Hardest:
1. Lack of sleep
2. Letting him become "The Boss". Everything changes. Your schedule goes around them.
3. Leaving him with someone, even if it's a short period of time.

The Best:
*Everything. His smiles, His laughs, His Hugs and Kisses and just watching him grow.
The older he gets, the more amazing it is.
(LOL...As I type this, he grabbed the X Box controller and is "Playing" along with DH.).
Just the BEST thing that has ever happened to me! Never thought I could LOVE someone SO MUCH!!Chat Icon

Re: Top 3 things.....

The hardest:
1. Days and night mixed up - very little sleep during that phase.
2. Being responsible for a BRAND NEW human being who depends on you for everything.
3. Worrying about that little person more than I even have in my life, and the pain I feel when there is something wrong and there is nothing I can do to help her. Chat Icon

The best:
1. Her smile and personality.
2. How sweet she is when she's sleeping.
3. When she sees me and her face opens up into a huge smile just for me, or she crawls over to me, or puts her arms up to be held and then buries her face in my neck.

Honestly, being a parent is really really tough. But it's so amazing how worth it it all is. There is no feeling that compares with it and there is no way to describe it, or ever imagine how phenomenal it is.

Best

1. This overwhelming sense of love and wonder that I never felt before. It truly is a miracle

2. His smile and laugh

3. Seeing my parents love their 1st grandchild Chat Icon

4. Made DH and I closer

Worst.

1. It's exhausting and sometimes there are no breaks.

2. It changes everything- esp my sense of identity, career, body.

3. More stuff to worry about

It's totally worth it. BEst of luck! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Top 3 things.....

Hardest

1. Lack of sleep...believe when people say "get your sleep now"
2. The initial life adjustment to being a mom...the fact that you are responsible for somone ele, you can't do anything you want, it take 2x the amount of time to do anything etc.
3. Always wanting to do the best thing for the child but always questioning is it it the right thing...

Best.

1. It's so cliche but you will never love anything more...to the point that it is scary.

2. Their smile...Oh my god..when I am at work all I have to do is think about that smile or laugh...sometimes I find people walk by and ask why am I smiling and it's because I am thinking about something he did.

3. How much they love you back.

Re: Top 3 things.....

Hardest:

1) Those first 8 weeks...my DD had a 2-3 hour witching hour every night & no matter what you did she wouldn't stop crying...very frustrating & you're working on a few hours sleep a night

2) How it changes things between you & your DH...so hard to explain...

3) Leaving her to go to work everyday, even if its w/ her Nanny (MIL)

Love:

1) Her smile & how excited she gets every morning when I wake her or when she sees me when I pick her up from MIL

2) When she snuggles on me or wraps her arms around me to hug me

3) That quiet time during her last feeding at night in the glider after I read to her & she's in her feetie PJ's & I'm singing lullabyes

Re: Top 3 things.....

My top 3 hardest (were):
1. the 1st 3-4 months
2. not realizing how a newborn would affect my marriage
3. lack of sleep

My top 3 BEST:
1. being able to be a SAHM and watching her grow every day
2. the way she lights up with her smile
3. EVERY single little thing about her that makes those top 3 hardest things seem like nothing.

Re: Top 3 things.....

3 Hardest:

1. I feel as if I have lost my sense of self in a weird way. I wouldn't trade having my DS for anything, but there are still so many other dreams that I have yet to accomplish. I just feel a bit lost about how to pursue them and balance motherhood.

2. The first 3 months. DS cried a lot!!! We don't have family in NY and DH could only take 1 week off. I was left home alone from 7am-7pm with DS. He cried for about 6-8 hrs out of the 12 I was with him. All I could do was join in!!

3. Not feeling like I am a good enough mother to my child. I want so much for him and I constently worry that I am doing all that I can.

Best:

1. Seeing what an amazing little guy we created. Happy, and an endless source of amusement.

2. Knowing that because of him I am becoming a better person.

3. Finding a new understanding of my mother and what she has gone through in her life. My mom had 3 children and 2 died. She shut down for a while and I basically was without a mom. I always tried to understand and not blame her and now I feel like I have found that understanding.

Re: Top 3 things.....

1. Your time is not your own
2. You are in a state of worry most times
3. As a working mom I dont feel like I am great at my job or great at being a mom

That being said
1. Being a Mom is the best thing i could have ever done with my life

2. DS's smile brightens up anyday

3. An ordinary activity with DS becomes an awesome time...everytime

Re: Top 3 things.....

3 hardest:

1.Not having the time you used to have for yourself - like working out, reading a book, going to the bathroom Chat Icon

2. Your finances get su cked dry

3. Your schedule is no longer your own. sure, you can say to your boss you will be at that mandatory, your-job-is-depending on it meeting next month, but if DC wakes up with vomit shooting out from every orifice - guess what? Your staying home!!!

3 Best:

1. No matter what is happening, how your day is going, whatever - one look at your child is like a moment of magic. There is nothing like holding your baby

2. The way their eyes light up when they see you - it could be 5 minutes or 5 hours - to them, seeing you is the most important thing imaginable

3. Wet, sloppy, gummy baby kisses.Chat Icon
