No you don't have to sign up for an account. IT's just easier to sell muliple items since you dont' have to confirm you email address on all the items you post.

That's what I love about craigslist....you don't have to have an account.
We sold lots of stuff on there (cars, fridge, exercise bike, etc) and bought a few (timeshsare)..... Good luck!!
