Did it go back to normal after? I had a normal period after the 1st shot and now after the second I am spotting a week earlier than I should, just curious if next cycle started normally or was off again? Thanks.

I had major breakthrough bleeding two weeks early, then got my regular period two weeks later and have been pretty much back to normal since then.

I didn’t notice a change. But I admittedly don’t keep track of mine that well.

No. Why should it scare anyone?

Anytime your body has an immune response your cycle can be affected. My cycle got screwy when I was sick with COVID, it's been "off" any time I've had a fever or sometimes even from a cold, etc. Stress, anxiety, depression, etc etc can all whack out your cycles as well, it doesn't take much to throw your cycle off. This is really nothing that alarms me, it's just annoying more than anything.

Didn’t scare me that it was heavier and came earlier the month I got my shot. I had a strong immune response. My period was wonky for 2 months after having Covid itself. Even When I have a cold, my period is off. Any immune response can effect your period.

I missed my period completely when I had the flu 10+ years ago. Scared the crap out of me (had just gotten married).
My OB said it was completely normal.

As per my ob/gyn they aren't concerned and said it's a normal response to the vaccine. Therefore, I'm not concerned. As you can see, most people's cycles returned to normal.

Interesting! My period has never acted weird while being sick, not even with a cold.

I have never noticed mine to be off after being sick and it has also not been affected by stress. The only time it was off was when I lost a significant amount of weight and was underweight in my 20s. Went back to normal as soon as I gained a few lbs. Technically I don’t think my period was off from the vaccine per se but I think the bleeding I had was due to the thrombocytopenia that was caused by the vaccine.

I am very regular. Same for after the shot, however, it is a much heavier flow.

That would worry me more if it is not an age thing.

Mine didn’t change. It has been wonky before all of this and my doctor said that is normal for my age group.

Me too. And I’ve never had a conversation with my girlfriends about wonky periods after being sick or a vaccine.

Meanwhile I have a friend who went to the ER because her bleeding was soooo heavy. Her periods still have not returned to normal. But that’s normal. She’s become a big advocate now for women to speak up that this is NOT normal.

What does she think is the cause?
