I take vaccinations and give my children ones that are required for them to be in school. None else. Mine are old enough now to make their own decisions. One of mine did get a flu shot one time at college and I had no clue. Never had the flu ever so I guess they offered it and, like yourself, probably pressured into getting it, they got it. My younger is asked at every doctors visit, who has an underlying issue and still says no. Never had the flu either.
No one has gotten Covid in the last year in my home. We are not sickly people and all have been out and about. Especially the older one that never stopped seeing friends (to my dismay in the beginning). We all do what we are told to do when we are out and know people who have gotten sick, who have been hospitalized, who had issues for a bit after and ones unfortunately who died.
The virus is real, just like every other virus and diseases. It doesn’t mean because we will not get a vaccine we don’t believe it. We are more comfortable waiting and maybe never getting it.

Every point we've all made has gone over your head. COVID hasn't gone away, this isn't over......... yet.
This isn't about the governor, it's about people taking personal responsibility to help things get better for all. Something you've shown zero interest in doing. Things can't go back to normal just because you want them to, this is process. The vaccine will get us there as long as the majority does the right thing by getting vaccinated.

The healthcare workers can't handle another wave. With no vaccine and no restrictions, hospitals will collapse. I just don't understand how people still don't get this.
Yes anyone can choose what they want to do in life. Many elderly have no problem living life now as well as immune compromised people. It is an individual decision and some people are more scared than others as with everything in life.
Hospitals know now how to handle this virus now better so the hospitals won’t get overwhelmed.
Nothing improves if everyone wants to do their own thing and not consider others.
We will never know if we don’t try as these other states are doing. Considering others more than yourself is causing suicides, depression, mental health deteriorating. Not saying not be considerate but this should be a choice how to live.
I was just looking at the steady and alarming rise of numbers for suicide, depression, etc for kids and I cannot believe people are not more alarmed to see this. I guess til it hits home, that’s when it’s gonna matter

I don’t know who you think you are to tell me that. This is what’s wrong with the world, people like you on your high horse and think you know everything. The vaccine is not a miracle pill that will end covid. It’s just going to help the elderly and compromised not die from covid. There is zero reason for me to take this, the flu shot, my son to take the guardasil vaccine, etc....
They still don’t know how long the vaccine even lasts. If it’s only 3 months than it’s pointless in my opinion. But once the majority of those who NEED the vaccine get it than let’s open up.

They still don’t know how long the vaccine even lasts. If it’s only 3 months than it’s pointless in my opinion. But once the majority of those who NEED the vaccine get it than let’s open up.
No one knows enough about this vaccine but will try and push it on everyone as the end all be all to this virus.
No one should be bullied into something they are not comfortable with nor told they are selfish if they don’t get it.

This isn't about the governor, it's about people taking personal responsibility to help things get better for all. Something you've shown zero interest in doing. Things can't go back to normal just because you want them to, this is process. The vaccine will get us there as long as the majority does the right thing by getting vaccinated.
You are willing to take something that you have no clue how many times you need to take it and if it will really work.
As I have stated I do all that I am told to do but life needs to go on after a year.

FL isn’t fully vaccinated and almost all open. TX and MS are not and will open. Other states do not require masks everywhere. We do have a right to complain as we have a dictator who makes everything about him. Hopefully he will be out soon and we will have someone else who isn’t a control freak.
We do not have enough people and time vaccinated to see how much it prevents.

The vaccine is to protect EVERYONE, not just the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions. It's so if you get COVID the severity of your symtoms is minimized and you get better faster and with that, have less of a chance of having long term health effects or worse, dying. It'll also help to slow and maybe at some point, stop the rampant spread and then we can go back to life without a mask and social distancing. Maybe if you actually educated yourself on the vaccine you could make a more informed decision about whether or not to take it. Just to be clear, since you brought up the flu, COVID is not the flu and it's frightening that people still need to be told that.
Even if you need a shot every year for some new strain, who cares. What's your alternative plan? Live like this forever? It's sad that social media and the internet has made it such that instead of trusting doctors, experts and science people are more inclined to trust their own half a$$ed "research", the meme their friend posted or some garbage they saw on You Tube. The dumbing down of this country over the last decade is scary. For the record, the mayor's of Houston and Austin are horrified that the governor is lifting restrictions, and are begging their residents to please still wear masks and socially distance.
Meanwhile, parts of italy go back on lockdown from March 6th- April 6th due to a much lower caseload than we have here.

Things can't go back to normal just because you want them to, this is process. The vaccine will get us there as long as the majority does the right thing by getting vaccinated.
You are willing to take something that you have no clue how many times you need to take it and if it will really work.
As I have stated I do all that I am told to do but life needs to go on after a year.
Please, go do some research on the vaccine and educate yourself.
Life can't go on until we fix the problem or we'll be right back where we were last March. How do you not understand that???
We will never be back to last March as we have more experience. People are not put on ventilators as much like they were, that were killing them. They know what to prescribe when told you are positive. Things that should be in everyone’s diet anyway and could be one of the reasons people have gotten sick.

For the record, the mayor's of Houston and Austin are horrified that the governor is lifting restrictions, and are begging their residents to please still wear masks and socially distance.
Meanwhile, parts of italy go back on lockdown from March 6th- April 6th due to a much lower caseload than we have here.
They are requesting Italy to go on lockdown. Obviously these lockdowns are not working.
Just like avoiding people who are sick, you are not going to get sick. When I have worked in offices, if one person gets sick, usually a bunch get it too.
As soon as you go back out and your immune system is low, you will get sick and it starts it all over again.
How many times and years can we be on lockdown?

I am not in fear and both sides are putting fear into people. I watch News12 everyday and they have turned more left over the years so, yes, I listen to main stream media that is not right wing.
Thanks but again no one will talk me into getting a vaccine. I will even be cancelling my vacation this year if I am required to get one. 2 out of 4 people in my house are eligible to get it and all 4 of us do not want it.
This isn't about "fear", it's about common sense and science both of which you're ignoring because you're an "armchair Google doctor".
Are you vaccinated against small pox? Measles? Rubella? Polio? Have you taken any of the other countless vaccines available to protect the public health and your own? You have no reason to not get the vaccine except FEAR. You have NOTHING to back up your claims that it doesn't work or that it's dangerous, you're just scared.
When the option is possible lifelong health issues, possible death and no normalcy in life you put your faith in science and doctors and take the damn vaccine. If you won't, then stop whining that things aren't back to normal yet.

I DO NOT judge anyone who does not take the vaccine. But then you have ZERO right to complain about restrictions and your kid not being able to have a playdate or you dancing at a wedding.
Everyone has every right to complain as we have a governor who has power control issues. Other places have less restrictions and are not spiking.
Every point we've all made has gone over your head. COVID hasn't gone away, this isn't over......... yet.

If people refuse to be vaccinated and/or forgo restrictions to get back to normal there is ZERO doubt that cases will spike AGAIN and we'll have to spend MORE time battling back.
Any state lifting these restrictions are being negligent and stupid.
