JC Penny's new commercial that copies The Breakfast Club? 
It's completely sacrilegious. They messed with perfection and these little tweens nowadays will never understand the power of John Hughes. *insert shaking head emote-icon here*

I saw it the other night at the movies of all places. It made really nostalgic for the movie though and now I'm dying to see the movie again!

ug, i saw that in the movies this weekend and i think JC Penney totally missed the ball on this one.
First off, if its targeted to kids to make them think they're going to be cool by buying the clothes.. then none of the kids will even get the reference.
If they're trying to target the parents by reminding them of the movie.. they blew it because i'm sure most of the parents are feeling the same way we are - totally annoyed that they'd even attempt to parody that movie.
it was a poor poor imitation - whats next, 16 candles?

My thought when I first saw it is that the kids who it is targeted to probably don't even know the movie, so I don't really understand the idea of using it for the commercial.
