I'm not a teacher, but DH is and he hasn't spoken much except to say that his principal said to him 'How dare you show up here again' Yeah, um, he's tenured. If you don't want him there then place him elsewhere. She won't let him transfer because she 'doesn't want to pawn him off on someone else'. How'd you like that as a boss to have to deal with every day. Oh, she also said 'I'm going to make sure you don't have an easy year'. His union rep was standing there the whole time- doing nothing. This is after she cancelled the phys ed program and is forcing him to teach a 3rd grade class. He hasn't been in a classroom for 4 years. This year is not going to be a good one.
Yeah don't you love some principals

No students yet but I am darn sick of changing schedules. They all leave messages that there is a problem and it turns out they just want something different
oh, and whomever goes into this profession thinking teachers and counselors get a cushy short day is sorely mistaking. Started today at 7:15 and didn't end until 5:15 with ten minute break to eat some food at lunch.

I am going to have such a hard year. My class is very difficult. 4 of them have oppositional defiance dissorder....and then the one who craps his pants every day -- well, it happened twice. his grandma sent clean clothes but the nurse wont' change him -- he has to change himself and he just can't clean it up so even in clean clothes the smell was horrible. they are telling me they won't even open his case for reeval until a month from now.
i wanted to just crawl up in a ball and sleep. i felt like it was too much.
on the way home i just looked at a picture of Emily that was in my purse and started to cry -- i have to post pics of her all over my room to remind me how lucky I am to have her and to keep me going this year. It breaks my heart to have to leave her to go to that.
This is going to be a really hard year.

I just got home at 4:30. I was in this morning at 6:45.
No faculty copiers work
I have 5 kids that get a laundry list of accomodations and no support for them in one class. they all really need an inclusion class. I spent an hour and 15 minutes getting IEP's off of the internet today.
Cafeteria Duty with about 200 students 8th period.
New asst. principal, new Supt... a lot of new people... very high turnover
And no contract
Sorry for the vent.
I kept saying over and over to myself today... You are finally having your babies Let it all roll off your back... roll, roll, roll
We must work in the same district!!! I had a day almost exactly like yours.
I think the no contract thing makes it worse!! My district is not budging. we are at Impasse.

That is so annoying!!!!! I once had something like 12 who were special ed out of 19, some of whom were self contained everything else, and I don't get a TA or a push in or anything!!!

OMG thats horrible. what happened? how did he get on her bad side?
She doesn't have a good side. I went to a retirement dinner with him for a woman that worked in the office. It was a table of about 15 people plus spouses. Not one person had a nice thing to say about her. She also is not healthy so she, as a person in general, is not a nice person.

My 1st day was horrible and I dont want to go back.....................It started with a child that punched me so hard in the face that I cried!! Then I got vomited on, while another child pushed my assistant into a file cabinet (where she hit her head!)...Then, I have another child with a boot on his leg from knee to toes, and moves so fast all over now, I can't even imagine what hes like completely mobile!!! lol
I don;t even want to tell you what the rest of the day was like!
Other that that, I am glad to be home!!
