Teacher gifts-how much do you spend?
How much do you spend on teacher gifts? Assistant teacher gifts? Is there a difference in price from holiday gifts versus the end of the year? Thanks!

In daycare I spent $50 for the teacher and $50 for the assistant.
In elementary I just give to the class gift

DS goes to catholic nursery school, last year for the 2s program I gave $50 to the teacher and $30 for the aides (visa giftcards)

Teacher gifts-how much do you spend?
DS # 1 is in 1st grade- the class mom is collecting, so I will contribute to that.
DS # 2 is in Pre-K. So far I haven't heard anything from the class mom, but I know it is still early. If she does not do a collection, I will do $50 gift cards for both the teacher and the assistant.

I am giving my kids' teachers $25 gift cards. We also contribute in the beginning of the year to a class fund, from which they also get a holiday and end of the year gift.
They don't have an assistant teacher.
I do the same for the end of the year.

Teacher gifts-how much do you spend?
For daycare I gave $25 per teacher - I wanted to give more but, it was just too much.
For elementary school I give the teachers $20. In kindergarten - I also give the assistant $20 since they do a lot of grunt work (tie shoes, help with lunches, etc).

I just picked up a $50 GC for the teacher and a $25 for the Para (PreK half day program). My DS has been difficult lol so I will probably still thrown down for the group gift as well.

We give 100 to class mom for daycare and it's divided between teacher and the assistants. We do this at the holidays and again at the end of the year.
For school I've given 25 dollar gift cards to the teacher

If the teachers are exceptional I give the same. I love them soooo much and they do such an amazing job it's never enough money to thank them for all they do.
Also, wanted to add my girls are at daycare from 7-530 5 days a week. It is a long day these teachers put in and they always have a smile on their face.

When DD was in daycare in the infant room she had one main teacher. I gave that one $100 for Christmas. She was amazing. Like leaving my daughter with my own mom. She even taught me things as a first time mom that helped me with my very high maintenance, colicky infant.
If the room had only one main teacher that teacher got $100. If there were 2 main teachers I split it between them at $50 each
I loved my daycare and every single teacher DD ever had there.

I give to the class gift and than I do $25 gc per teacher and assistant in the class.

My DD goes to daycare- I am probably going to do $25 target GC's for each. She goes to a licensed home daycare and there are 2 co-owners and 2 assistants. I wish I could do more but between what I have to buy for my son and other gifts it's hard, plus my rate was just raised as well... There are subs but I may just send in a cookie platter or something for them.
My son on the other hand because he is special needs he has a lot more teacher/staff involved in his life, and I counted 20 people between teacher/aides/therapists/bus drivers/matrons

Teacher gifts-how much do you spend?
My DS is in full day nursery school.
We give $100 to each head teacher.
$25 to director.
$25 to security gaurd.
But I don't think this is average, it's probably on the higher end I'd suspect, at least for where we live. We only do it because fortunately, we are able to and during the holidays we really try to focus on "giving back" to others. We don't really do gifts for each other and the kids, just a few small tokens.

For daycare depending how many teachers my gift will vary from $25-$30 I don't give different amounts main vs assistant they all do the same thing.
At K last year I gave to the class gift and my DD wanted to give her something also so I got her $25 chiplote gift card.
I also hate doing all this and hate the feeling of obligation on having to do it.

Teacher gifts-how much do you spend?
Daycare was $50 main 25 assistants and $10 gift cards to the floaters.
I’m class Mom for prek and I’m collecting from the parents. Most money will go towards the main teacher then I will spread out the collection amongst the assistants and the 4 other teachers. They have music, art, computer and gym. So far I’ve only had 2 people give me money but there is still time so we will see. I’m thinking $100-$150 is what I will chip in for all teachers.

We're giving DD's main teacher $50 and the assistant $50. Then the Director and Assistant Director we plan to give nice candles with $25 GC (both have been really great to us). And for the floaters we'll be doing candles with $10 GC to dunkin donuts.
I honestly wish I could do more for the floaters but money is tight this year and there are quite a few of them. Actually a lot of them aren't really floaters...they're assistant teachers from other rooms who go out of their way to stop in and visit and play with my DD...they absolutely LOVE her and take the best care of her.

Don't feel cheap. As a teacher, I very rarely get a $50 gc, and I don't give that much to my kids' teachers.

I barely give half of what everyone is saying. In fact, a lot of schools will not permit teachers to accept such a large monetary gift.
I have a lot of teachers in my immediate family and believe me, $50 is NOT the norm in a typical classroom.
