Re: Stitch Fix.... ?

Yeah I know. I'm giving it a rest. I found 2 of the brands that they send OFTEN at Marshalls for 14.99 and 16.99!! And they always send Kut from the Kloth Jeans, which marshalls also has now!! For like 24.99!!!

Re: Stitch Fix.... ?

I don't understand the fascination with this.

I've seen a few fashion bloggers post their goods, and honestly, it's overpriced stuff that really doesn't look that good on them IMO.

Stitch Fix.... ?

Glad someone posted about this bc I wanted to ask a question!
I got my first fix in June. I loved it, kept a blouse and a dress.
I got my second about a week ago and they sent me TWO duplicate items but in different colors! The exact dress I bought but in a pattern, and a shirt that I didn't keep bc I explained in my review that I didn't like the way it fit.
Do they normally do this??? I figured they were running out of things bc it's the end of the season but I specifically asked for fall clothes (cardigans, jeans).

Edit to add should I email and complain or am I easton g my time?

Re: Stitch Fix.... ?

Thats very odd! I think that must be an error. Usually they make good on stuff like that, and maybe will credit you for the fix.

As for the items, I do have a few things that I got from there that I love. In fact, i'm wearing a SF shirt today. I think part of the reason why people like it so much, despite the fact that it may cost a bit more than comparable items in a store, is b/c its just fun and exciting to have a mystery package arrive in the mail.

Alas, I enjoyed it a lot more when I had free credit from referrals and winning a $250 pinterest contest. Now that I would have to PAY for the items, I'm not as enthusiastic. I also think they've grown much faster than they anticipated and they can't keep up w/the demand. I feel like some of the stylists don't really even look at your preferences anymore. I asked for NO bottoms and they've sent me skinny pants several times. Frustrating.

But, I think the bottom line is 1) its a fun surprise 2) their items are usually exclusive to them. Sometimes I feel like when I wear a LOFT shirt 10 other ppl have the same item. Not so with my SF items.

But again, to each his (or her) own I suppose. It was fun for me for awhile, and I have a few things that I LOVE from them (and a few that I just got b/c I had free credit that are now for sale on eBay)

Re: Stitch Fix.... ?

PS - its sort of generalizing to say that nothing that comes from SF looks good on ppl. I've had winners and losers in all of my fixes.

I'm not generalizing. I'm talking about the specific blogs I've seen, I really just don't think it looks that good on the people although they seem to think they look great.

There's one blog I follow too where the chick is always complaining about how broke she is, yet ends up buying everything in each box all the time. Even stuff that honestly doesn't look flattering.

I don't have the heart to comment negatively though. If they're happy, they're happy.

ETA: I've seen a couple where the stuff looks good but it still seems a little much when like you said, you can find the same thing in Marshall's.

That has never happened to me. I actually requested that they send me a pair of jeans in a larger size because I loved them and they couldn't do it, they were all out so it seems like they go through things pretty quick.

I'd definitely shoot them an email and let them know your concerns. Ask them for a credit for your fix, i'm sure they will make it right. Also, make sure that you specify your style in your comments and put a link to your pinterest with things that you like. It takes a couple of times for your stylist to get your style but the fixes seem to get better and better. It bugs me when they change my stylist so I request that they keep me with Laura and she pays attention to my details - for instance, she always sends me at least one nautical item with each fix and I almost always keep it. Then she will go out of my comfort zone with the other items but I like that, it's one of the reasons that I use StitchFix.

As far as just going to Marshalls and shopping for myself, like I said above, the whole point of SF is to find a stylist who will pick items for you that you may not pick yourself or pull you out of your comfort zone. Disliking the things that you have seen or disliking items that people have posted could just be a matter or style or preference. What I think looks good probably isn't what you think looks good and vice versa. Simply, if it's not something that you're interested in then don't use it but IMO, don't knock it until you try it. It's fun and only a $20 investment if I don't like the items so no big deal. Out of the things I have kept, I get so many compliments on them so they must be on to something!

I hope you get a good response from them. Update us!

Re: Stitch Fix.... ?

I wanted to say I like it because they send me things I definitely wouldn't pick for myself some have been huge misses but some I have been pleasantly surprised and they are finally starting to lower the prices on the items they send, every month I say too expensive

I'm giving it a rest since i'm pregnant but was wondering if everyone is still doing it. I was so happy with my first few fixes. I actually don't think i've ever sent back an entire order.

Stitch Fix.... ?

So I just got an email back from them. Someone send me an email apologizing and saying she will put a note on my account to never send duplicate items. But no refund of my styling fee. Wahh!! At least I tried!

Re: Stitch Fix.... ?

I'd send back an angrier letter!! A duplicate/different color of an item that you kept isn't bad (esp if you said you liked it in the feedback) but a duplicate of an item that you didnt like is BS!! By sending you that they're taking away the opportunity for you to buy the whole box and save the 25%, etc. I'd send an angrier letter!!! I'd demand at least 25% off whatever you may have kept from that last fix.

I agree. Did you outright ask for a refund?

No I didn't flat out ask for a refund. I just sent another one and asked to be compensated for something. I'll update when I can!

Re: Stitch Fix.... ?

I might be officially DONE.

I scheduled another one, b/c I read a bunch of blogs with cute stuff and caught the bug again, and it was supposed to ARRIVE today, and it hasn't even shipped yet...

AND they haven't replied to my customer service request...

AND they already charged me....

AND this is the SECOND time this has happened to me.

Its like they WANT to piss off longtime customers. This would be fix #13!!! Its not like I'm new. I really wanted a new cool shirt for the first day of classes on Friday, but alas, it looks like it is not to be. We'll see what comes in this fix... maybe it will be outstanding and I'll reschedule, but as of right now I canceled all future fixes.

I'm sad b/c this was a really fun service.

Stitch Fix.... ?

I'm canceling mine too.
After going back and forth they are giving me a $10 credit (big whoop).
My next fix is coming Sept 13, then I'm dunzo. And if they AGAiN send me a duplicate item my head is gonna spin!!!!
I've had the same thing happen to me with shipping also...

I might be done too. I noticed the quality on some items is lacking. I was sent a shirt that was missing a button, then sent a blouse that the stitching went through both sides so it was lopsided.
