I am Amanda, I am 35 and DH is 40. We tried for a year for DD and went to the Galapagos the cycle before our IVF cycle. We came back pg with DD. We have been trying for 13 months for #2. We have done 4 IUIs, one which came about b/c my IVF in June was cancelled due to poor response. I had a lap for endo in 2001 but have been fine since then (no endo symptoms at all, 2 clear hsgs). We have MFI. I am in the 2ww from my last IUI. If this fails we will be trying IVF with a new protocol after AF shows. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon to everyone!!!

Re: So Many New Faces: Time for Intros

I am 31 and DH is 32. We've been trying for almost a little over two years and are diagnosed with unexplained infertility. I do have a bicornuate uterus and a borderline elevated prolactin and FSH level, but the RE does not think these are causing my infertility.

So far, we have done 3 unmedicated IUI's, 4 Clomid/IUIs, and now I'm in my second injectable/IUI cycle. If this doesn't work, IVF is the next step.

Re: So Many New Faces: Time for Intros

I'm 33, Dh is 37. We got PG on our first try with our first, miscarried, and got PG a week later and carried a successful pregnancy.

However, I'm now experiencing the dreaded "secondary infertility" - we have been trying since March 07. I consulted with an RE in October because my instinct told me something was wrong.

I was diagnosed with hostile CM, and possible endometriosis (I have a very, very, very small endometrioma). I also had slighly elevated Thyroid levels, but they are under control now.

We tried 2 unsuccessful, unmedicated IUI's. This month we tried our first medicated IUI with follistim, ovidrel and progesterone.

We're going to try 3-4 more months with this, and then either do a laparscopy to determine if it is, indeed endometriosis, or just proceed with IVF.

Re: So Many New Faces: Time for Intros

I am 28 and DH is 29. We have been TTC since 7/06. WE got pg naturally last year but unfortunately m/c at 7 weeks. We have been unsuccessful since.

We have undergone 3 back to back IUI's and 3 failed/cancelled IVF cycles.

RE thinks I have poor egg quality and I also have slightly elevated prolactin (on meds for 6 years)

I am 38, DH is 39. We've been trying since 02/07. Did routine testing 09/07 to discover a largish fibroid on the right side and a blocked tube on the left. Did one round of clomid/IUI, one round Gonal-F/IUI, and finaly, while waiting for IVF cycle did another round of clomid/IUI - which was cancelled. Had 2 failed IVF cycles and we are trying to figure out our next step.

Re: So Many New Faces: Time for Intros

I'm 36 (37 in a 1/2 hour...almost my bday) and DH is 42.
We've been married for 3 years (together for 16).
Tried naturally for 1 year after getting married and for the last two years I've been going to Columbia where we've had 4 IUIs, 1 fresh IVF (ICSI/assisted hatching) and 1 FET...all failed, FET was a chemical.
I've just made appts. with Cornell for DH and myself and also have an appt. at New Hope. Pretty much unexplained infertility except some of DH's results are somewhat borderline.

I'm Kristen (28) & DH is Jason (29). We have been trying since 5/07. Finally went to see a Fertility Urologist 4/08 & DH was diagnosed with low morphology & low testosterone. He is being treated for his low testosterone with Clomid. Our only IF problem is Male IF. Had our first RE appt on 5/23 & we are on our way to IUI as soon as my AF comes to town....

I've been here for a while...

DH is 38, I will be 38 next week. Been trying since 10/05. Didn't get serious and see an RE until December 2007. No one seems to be able to give me an answer why nothing is working. Even the doctor said he didn't know why the IUI's didn't work because everything seems to be working fine. So I guess we have unexplained infertility.

I've done 3 medicated IUI's (with Follistim) and am currently in the 2WW for my first IVF (Blood test on Monday - keeping fingers crossed).

Hi All,

I'm Kristyna (29) and my DH is Justin (29). This will be our 18th cycle since going off the pill. After 6 months we had an SA done and found out we were dealing w/ MF. DH had varicosele repair in October and we gave it 6 months after that before going to an RE. So far we've had one unmedicated and one medicated IUI. We will be having our third next week...Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I feel like I've been here all my life Chat Icon

Lauren, 34, DH 36. I have a balanced translocation. A stillborn at 36 weeks, a m/c and lots of chemicals. DH also has a morphology problem. Became pregnant with my stillborn naturally after 5 months of trying, then started TTC again in 10/05. Still trying! Been in the care of an RE since 10/06.

IUI = 8
IVF = 2

I can only do IVF with PGD, but I've done it twice already and that PGD is expensive! Chat Icon So I'm taking a break from that for a while and going with IUI.

Welcome all the newbies. May your journies be short and sweet!

I'm Beth-Ann (40) and DH is Barry (41). We've been married for 3 1/2 years, but together for almost 11yrs. We started TTC 11/05. Had a m/c after getting pg after the HSG in 4/07. Have t-shaped uterus. Have mild hypothyroidism. 6 failed IUI's (3 with clomid, 3 with Gonal-f), and now 2 failed IVF's (mirco flare and EPP protocols). Have high FSH, poor responder and poor egg quality. Taking a break for the next 2 months and then on to my 3rd IVF (and hopefully my lastChat Icon ).

I'm Kim, I will be 30 in 2 weeks and my husband (James) will be 34 the day after my bday. We've been married for 5 years. We found out July 07, that my husband has Azoospermia (NO SPERM). We had one failed IUI, non-medicated and I'm currently in my 2 weeks with my 2nd IUI,with clomid. I find out if it worked on my bday. We are only dealing with MFI. I wish everybody here the best of luck! Thank you for all the support! Chat Icon

Re: So Many New Faces: Time for Intros

I'm Helen (37) and DH is Dan (39). We've been TTC since Jan. 07. After a year of nothing, we started seeing RE in Jan. of this year. DH has low motility & diminished morphology. But the bigger problem is me: poor ovarian reserve & extremely high FSH. We did one round of Clomid/IUI-no response. We just finished our second round of Gonal-F/IUI. In the 2ww and very hopeful.

Re: So Many New Faces: Time for Intros

Great idea!!!

I'm 34 and DH is 39. We were married and started TTC right away. After a year, we knew something was wrong. My ob/gyn ran some tests. Mine came back ok, DH's weren't. Sent to an RE and were told we were dealing with severe MF due to testicular failure. Our only option was IVF with ISCI and it was suggested to us that we use donor sperm. We were told it would be a miracle if we conceived on our own. At the time, we only had one shot at this but we decided to go forward with DH's sperm. Happy to say we now have a 2 year old son!

I was done after the first cycle but, things changed and opportunities were presented to us so we did another cycle in January. BFP but m/c.

I started a new job and have IVF benefits for 2 more cycles so we are trying yet again. I'm in the middle of my stims with ER on 6/17 and ET on 6/20!

Re: So Many New Faces: Time for Intros

I'm Michele (37), my husband is Anthony (38). TTC since 7/07. Anthony has low count and poor morphology. I have poor ovarian reserve and quality and "ovarian dysfunction".

Tried IVF with Follistim and Ganirelix, no mature eggs in the follies when ER attempted.

Second IVF attempt (long Lupron cycle) converted to IUI since only one follie grew.

Starting new protocol on June 24, using Follistim, Menopur and Ganirelix.

Re: So Many New Faces: Time for Intros

I'm (37) and my DH is 42. We've been married for 2.5 years and have been trying to get pregnant since August 06. I've been diagnosed with PCOS, even though I believe I don't have PCOS in the true definition of it. I have some charatoristics, and my bloodwork is 'borderline' However, since coming off the pill in 2006, I do not ovulate on my own. I want to add, that prior to going on the pill in 2005, I NEVER had any issues with my cycle. After 2 SA's done 4 weeks apart in October 07 my DH has 0% morphology. We did 6 Clomid cycles, 1 with timed intercourse which resulted in a chemical pregnancy and the rest IUI. We did 2 IUI cycles with my OBGYN before moving to the RE in October 07. We did another 3 failed IUI's with the RE, then took a 6 week break before starting IVF. My first IVF was a BFP that ended with a m/c. I had 6 eggs retrieved, 5 fertilized with ICSI and 3 made it to transfer day. We had nothing left over to freeze. Currently in a 2nd fresh IVF Cycle.

Re: So Many New Faces: Time for Intros

I'm 30 and DH is 33. We were TTC for about a year with a few tries on clomid but with no luck before going to an RE in Dec '07. I was told I had PCOS. We went straight to IVF because we were doing PGD. After waiting many moths for PGD lab we began our first IVF cycle. I am currently on the 7th day of stimming. Retrieval any day now!!
