SO mad....
Last tue we went to a friends house- when I got there the littlest child was snotty, coughing- and then she told me she had taken him to the doctor the day before to check his ears.
NEXT TIME TELL ME BEFORE I GET THERE!
I told dh as we were leaving "dd is going to be sick within a week, I know it" and sure enough, saturday morning she woke up with a runny nose, it has been getting progressively worse- she is up all night coughing- it is awful. And I got it too, so we both feel like crap.
Is it wrong to expect someone to tell you before you come over that their kid is sick? I always do.
And we are leaving for vacation on sat, I hope we are better by then.

Your friend should have told you so you could decide whether or not you all wanted to be exposed to their germs. I'd be ticked off especially since vacation is right around the corner.

Very wrong. Whenever I have plans with someone, and Alex is sick, even just the sniffles, I always, as a courtesy, call them to let them know so they can cancel if they feel like it. And, by the same token, all my friends do the same. Many a time we've cancelled a playdate, or a get-together because one of our kids is under the weather.

Seriously, I would of left! I would of told them that we are going away in a few days and I don't want my DD getting sick! That we will have a playdate some other time! Sorry.
That was wrong of her she should of called you! I would be so pi$$ed too!

That is so wrong! I hope she learns from this (have you talked to her about it?), but I guess if not then the next time you have a play date with her, you should either call her the night before and ask how her children are feeling, or, if the child(ren) look sick once you're there, you can excuse yourself.
