what would you say to that question?

eta: dh and I go away without each other often. he is going to see a very important game between to rival teams in Milan (we both are AC Milan fans) it doesn't bother me...except that he'll be having my gelato and cappuccino

and for the record, he did ask me to go. I was just curious what other people thought. I gave him a nice long shopping list for me

my dh did this to me with london

his good friend moved over there and offered to fly dh for free

i said yes and made plans for a girls weekend

it worked out fine


now, with short notice m that would bother me a little. why is he going and who is he seeing?

Honestly, I'd laugh because you can't do too much in that timeframe. with as long as the flights are, you'd pretty much get there and have to turn around to come home.

i'd want to know why... and why i couldn"t go along for the trip, esp since i have never been to italy and it's a place we really want to go TOGETHER!

if it were for work - i'd understand. if it were for something personal - i'd be mad.

If it's for work, I say "See you when you get home" and make plans for myself.

If it's for anything else, I get pizzed and say, "Where's my ticket?"

Well, I think it's slightly different for us because it's only a 2 1/2 hour flight - so it's the equivalent of him taking of for Detroit for the weekend But, he's gone to Spain on his own for a weekend to visit a friend and I've gone to Berlin to meet up with a friend of mine, so I wouldn't mind. Although if it was something that I wanted to do too, I'd be a bit annoyed - meaning if it was a weekend enjoying the finer things Madrid had to offer and not spending 3 days in a row sleeping off the previous nights' hangover!

We don't travel without each other for the most part. Every once in a blue moon that will happen and it's family related.

I would be annoyed he even asked considering I have never been there and it's a place that is on my top priority to visit.
