So last night I was talking on the phone with

my SIL and I was asking her if she was going to Mary's party the following Sunday..... She told me she was not sure because she could not get a babysitter for her son!

her son is 15 years old nothing is wrong with him he is very normal I guess I mean he is just really quiet. The only weird thing about him is he is always touching his mothers hair. Other than that he seems normal I just cant believe she will not leave a 15 year old alone. Is that a little strange to you?

Maybe he just isn't mature enough.
I know a couple of 15 year olds, that I wouldn't trust in the house by themselves Chat Icon

Re: So last night I was talking on the phone with

When my SD was 15 we tried not to leave her alone. Her older sister was usually the "babysitter" or we brought her to hang with her cousins with my SIL & BIL or we took her with us, depending on where we were going. Not because she was immature, etc., just because 1. she never liked being home alone & 2. most of our friends live at least 45 minutes away & we felt we were too far if something happened & we don't really have neighbors for her to go to. Every situation is different for this - it's a family decision.

I think it is a little odd and I would probably be Chat Icon too, but every family is different.

I would guess that she knows her son best, and maybe realizes that for whatever reason, he needs supervision. Kudos to her for NOT leaving him home alone if she does not trust him. My neighbors left their 14 year old home alone for a night and the cops ended up getting called to break up the party.
