So I was talking to my MIL last night...
About how DS is still on cereal and she said "oh he should be on veggies by now, he's 5 months old.
I went at a slow pace for DS cuz he has gas issues. I didn't know that Matthew had a deadline to meet as to when he should be eating veggies.
See another classic example of people saying things when they don't understand your child 100% She is not with Matthew 24/7 and doesn't know how gassy he can get.
I love my MIL but sometimes she says silly things...
I know she raised 4 kids but things are different now and all babies are different.
I also told her that some babies are starting solids at 6 months now. I told her that some babies are ready for it early on and some are not.

Don't listen to her. My ped. wants to wait to 6 months for cereal, nevermind veggies or fruits.

My MIL is the same way. She tells me that my SIL son did this or that at my daughters age (3months) i kindly remind her that not all kids are the same.

Ugggh! I hate that! I told her that one of DH's SIL told me that things should be introduced slowly to the babies because you don't know how they are going to react to them. You gotta give them time. I agree with that.
By the time DS gets his teeth she'll be saying that he can eat regular foods...

One of my cousins was giving cereal to her DS at one month old in a bottle. I wouldn't do that but I wouldn't tell her she is wrong for doing that. If her baby took to it well then great!
There is no right or wrong way of doing things. Only Mommy and Daddy know best. Well sometimes daddy knows best... DH too sometimes pisses me off. He'll be like "shouldn't he be on veggies by now though".
I was like "hello don't you know your son and that he has gas issues".
