Annoying late night phone calls!

A company out of Wichita, KS calls our home line anywhere from 12AM to 1:30AM (or later). When we call the number on our caller id, it's a fax line. This has happened twice this week, including last night.

This morning I called information and got the company's phone number, but it's an automated system and they don't take "orders" on Saturdays. I plan on calling on Monday, but I went to the company's Web site and went to the "contact us" tab. I emailed them requesting the refrain from attempting to fax our home phone number as it is not a fax line and we don't appreciate being waken up in the middle of the night. I've been able to put a "do not disturb" on our phone so it does stop, but this morning we had 4 voice mail messages - all the fax trying to get through!

I'm hoping the email helps and I will try calling them during their business hours on monday, are there any agencies I could contact about this? Vonage tells me I can't block the number, but they'd be "happy" to change our number for us. I don't want the inconvenience of changing my phone number (again). I have no idea how this company got our number - it's unlisted!

they prob are thinking that they are faxing one company but in fact they have the wrong number.... i've encountered this plenty of times.

Before you go through the hassle of changing your phone number and inconvenicing yourself, friends and family, try to contact the company on monday and let them know what is going on.
This happens so frequently, either someone from the company has the number they are trying to fax incorrectly, or someone gave your number as their fax number by mistake.

This exact thing happened to us a few weeks ago, and I called the company that Monday and gave them a piece of my mind...also, if they call, I was told that if it's an auto dialer, which it most likely is, you press like 7 or 8 random numbers and it throws it off..good luck..I was amazed when DH called verizon in the middle of the night to ask what we could do and in 2007, their answers were, "leave the phone off the hook and do that number descrambling thing" I was amazed..good luck!
