So I decided to schedule an appt. with my ped to check out Cailen's lump - UPDATE on page 2 - phew!!!
Not sure if you ladies remember me posting last week, but Cailen has this soft fleshy lump on top of his head...
I couldn't stop looking at it and touching it all weekend, and last night, even DH, who NEVER talks about sending any of his kids to the doctor, said maybe we should get it checked out because he feels it has changed shape a little...
So, last night I was a wreck... Cailen doesn't notice when I touch it, and he is alert and strong, so I'm thinking it most likely is nothing, but I am very worried... This is my 1st mommy worry!
We are scheduled for 11:15 this morning - please wish us luck and send us good thoughts and prayers that it is nothing!!!

My son was born with a lump on the top of his forehead - luckily the doctor said it was nothing to worry about - it was like a calcium deposit. Now that he's a little bigger it is hardly noticeable.

NO!!!
OMG - if I saw that, I would have had a panic attack and he would have been there immediately - my stepsister had a lump that was reddish and wound up being cancer... I think that is why I'm still a wreck... No, its fleshy and the same color as the rest of his skin... He has had it since he was born... I noticed it then, but figured it was just part of being a newborn... I don't know if its bigger because his head is bigger, but Angelo thinks it looks a little pointier, giving him that "cone head" look...
I have to say, I really want to cry about it - thank God they were able to schedule an AM appt - I would have been dysfunctional all day!!!

DD has a lump on her head when she was born that the doc said was from the birth process, it went away on it's own in a few weeks... good luck!
