24 years ago...me, my mom, my baby sister and my grandmother went to the lighting of the tree. 24 years ago was almost the last day of my life. We basically got trampled. My grandmother got swept away. A barricade fell on my moms hip and my mom had to pass me off to a total stranger who put me on his shoulders and promised to keep me alive and get me out. My sister was almost crushed to death (she was only a year old)...
It was my first and LAST time there ever! My kids will never have that experience. I love going throughout the holiday season but I will never go the night it is lit. I always wanted to try to find the guy who saved my life but all we know is his name was Brian and he was in his mid twenties back then. My mom still lights candles for him. Sorry to be a downer..just wanted to share.

we went out, and saw the tree lighting as soon as I put the tv. on they did th ecoutdown.
AH and I will take our annually trip in to see it
