I don't know if it was popular or not but Empire Records is a great movie. Also I love Stealing home with Mark Harmon and I think its Jodie Foster.
eta: Barfly & Buffalo 66 are great B movies.

Another Wes Anderson fan! I loved all those films too, plus - Henry Fool, Life Aquatic, Lost in Translation (that was kind of popular though), almost anything by the Coen brothers.

Sorority Boys with Barry Williams from Seventh Heaven.
It is my all time favorite, 3 guys go undercover dressed as woman (I love movies where men dress as women, lol) and try to get into a sorority b/c they have been kicked out of their fraternity.
It is hysterical...I bought the dvd and probably have watched that movie 35 times or so...and I am NOT a movie person.
Cheesy fun humor at its best!
