Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

I can't believe it is my turn!!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

We used OPKs. I got a smiley on CD 16 in the afternoon, CD 17 in the AM and again on CD 18 in the AM. I usually only get one positive and there were months that I never even got a positive.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

We BD on CD 13, 16 and 18.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

I really thought that I was out this month because I had bad AF like cramps but I decided to test 12 DPO and the line came up in two seconds and it was very dark!!!

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

Been taking prenatals for the past 6 months. Guess it was just good timing!!!

The only symptoms I had were that of AF but the cramping started much earlier. On CD 6 they were really intense. My boobs were a little bit sore. I still have the same symptoms at approx 4 weeks.

GOOD LUCK GIRLS!!!

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

I charted AF and figured my O date using mymonthlycycle.com

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

We BD everyother day starting on day 9 until day 19. Around what I thought was my O time, we BD everyday

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

I tested on DPO 11 and got a very faint line. Tested again the next day and got a better line.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

I started taking OTC prenatals, not sure if that did antyhing

Symptons: I started to get "sick," stuffy nose, cough, sick to my stomach around 6DPO and it has lasted every since. I also started to spot from 11DPO until 15DPO, that was scary but from what I have read, some say it was implantation bleeding.

I hope this helps someone out there. Here is some Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon to all you ladies. I really wish everyone the best.

aww, thanks

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)
ALL OF THE ABOVE - i temp, opk's and CBEFM - since i have PCOS and Hashimoto's, I like to cover all my bases and not rely on one method

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

Every other day after AF ended, then day before O, day of O and day after O

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

I tested at 9 DPO and got the lightest line possible - but i have never even gotten an evap line before, its usually stark white! then again at 10 DPO and light again, then today with different brand and darker

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)
this was my first month taking clomid
i also take prenatals, my synthroid, metformin, AND evening primrose oil, which is supposed to help with EWCM
oh, and a baby aspirin everyday!!
Thats it!

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.) We BD'd the whole week I was using the OPK.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!) I started testing at 6 DPO, I got my BFP on 10 DPO.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.) I was taking prenatals for about a week or so before TTC.

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

Ok- here are my things.... I still cannot believe that this is really happening.

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

I used OPKs-- regular and digitals. It took me a long time to master the art of the OPK. Because my cycles were farily long, at the beginning I would get discouraged and stop testing. It took me about 3 cycles before I figured out the best way to use to them and to keep testing. Once I did figure it out, I got pregnant every time-- it just didn't stick.

I also kept track of my cycles at MMC.com. I will say this-- cause I see a lot of girls post on here that these online sites are telling them when they will O, or get their periods. Even though I was marking everything off- the site was ALWAYS wrong. It is based on text book stuff and if you are slightly irregular, the information will not be accurate for you. Listen to your bodies, take notes so you can compare so you really can "learn" your body. After I figured out when I O'd for the first time and got my post-O symptoms I though, "Oh, that's what that is". And I knew I had o'd, etc. When previously I had confused those symptoms with possible early preg symptoms because my cycles were so long.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

We "blanketed" the area since my O day was always changing. Luckikly, my cycles kept getting shorter. We usually BD'd every other day leading up to my surge-- then once I got that every day. This cycle, we didn't BD on 1DPO, but did on previous cycles.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

I think I took my first test at 7DPO because I am total pyscho. I got 4 BFPs, including a digital, on 9DPO.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

I had been taking a multi with a folic acid supplement until the end of January, when my GYN told me to switch to pre-natals. So, I was taking those and an Omega 3 supplement. I had been taking Vitex which I think helped to shorten my cycles, but my RE told me to stop. She also put me on progesterone supplments-- and lo and behold-- this is the month it appears to be sticking.

I actually eat Barilla Plus pretty regularly-- because I actually like it and I like that it packs such nutrional value. I don't think this has anything to do with my BFP.

I also eat a pretty healthy diet and I exercise.

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.) I tracked my cycle for 18 months using my monthly cycles. I have a 27 day cycle to the date. NEVER late. I tried OPKs but I was testing with FMU and never got a smiley so I gave up. I know when I ovulate because I get a lot of cramping.

2. What was your BD schedule?
This was our first month trying after my MC. We had fun with it. We BD'd a lot! But around O we Bd'd 2 days before O, the day of O and the day after.

3. At how many dpo did you test?
Tested 9DPO with FRER my birthday and got a faint BFP, DH was skeptical it was so light.
10DPO with FRERI got up at 3 am to pee, drank water and went back to sleep I tested again at 7 am and BFN I think I diluted the HGC that was still very low.
11 DPO with FRER I tested againg FMU and got a brigher line DH even saw it. I rtested again in teh afternoon with a 3.5 hour urine hold with a $ and faint positive.

4. Anything else that might have contributed?
I was on prenatals for 7 months before my PFB to get my folice acid levels nice and high. I stopped drinking alcohol and ANY caffeine in January. I also stopped eating anything with artificial sweeteners and soda of any kind.

I took evening primrose oil tablets every day until Ovulation and then stopped. I was also taking 1,000mg of B6 due to a shortening Luteal Phase.

I also increase my dairy intake to include full fat dairy since there are new studies out there that say that including full fat dairy in your diet can aid in ovulation.

DH takes a mens multi vitatmin. He also drank green tea every dea that is suppose to help aid in male fertility. DH aslo abstained form drinking alcohol a month prior to ovulation because new studies are emerging that alcohol can affect mens sperm and later lead to possible effect to the fetus.

I'm still in shock and can't believe it. I pray every day that all you beautiful, strong and courageous mommies-to-be "cross-over" soon!

Good luck ladies

1. What method did you use to TTC? I used the method that my Luteral Phase was average.

2. What was your BD schedule? I BD'd every day leading up to O and then stopped.

3. At how many dpo did you test? I got faint BFP's 9DPO, 10DPO, 11DPO and then a positive on an EPT 12DPO.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? I do take prenatals and lifting my legs in the air after BD'ing I think helped this time and last. Also not moving for about 20 mins after BD'ing.

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC?

Started tracking how long my cycle was last summer by using mymonthlycycles.com. In Feb, we got serious and started using OPKs. This cycle was the first cycle using a digital OPK and I really feel like that took the guess work out. Also paid attn to increased CM, O cramping etc.

2. What was your BD schedule?

I typically have a 28 day cycle, and O on CD14. With that said, this month we:

CD10: BD
CD12: BD
CD13: +OPK, BD
CD14: O, BD

3. At how many dpo did you test?

I did not test until 14DPO. That night CD28 was almost over, and when I looked back, I realized I hadn't had a cycle longer than 28 days since December.

4. Anything else that might have contributed?

It's true what they say. I feel like everything just fell into place. I joined WW, and am on the core plan so I was/am eating a lot of whole pasta and whole grains, less fats and carbs, etc. Also drinking more water. This was also my first cycle on prenatals. I really feel like the nutritious diet played a roll.

I also kept a daily calendar just for TTC. Every day I would write down how I was feeling:
tired, cramping, +OPK, CM, BD days, AF, AF flow, etc. This helped too.

GOOD LUCK Y'ALL!

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

I am so excited to post this!! Good luck to all you ladies!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

We temped for a week (couldnt really get used to it and we used OPK's. I wasnt sure exactly when I would O so I bought the Answer O tests (20 in a pack) and started using them. When I was pretty sure I was o'ing, i would take a cbe Digital OPK To confirm.

I also kept track of my cycles at Mymonthlycycles.com. I dont really recommend this as a confimation of when you will O, but more of a tool to track everything and write everything down. for some reason, I dont think the calendar is correct.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

We bd'd one day before O, day of O and day after O. I wouldnt recommend doing it more than 3 days in a row, might hurt dh's supply!!!

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

I tested at 13dpo with first response gold and got my bfp. I tested again the next day and got an even darker line!

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

I cut back on caffeine as soon as I knew we were going to try and I started taking prenatals.

Feel free to FM With questions!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

We used mymonthlycycles.com so we had a roundabout of when I was ovulating and then had lots of S E X! We always did it right before going to bed, so I wouldn't have to get up! Went right to sleep, knowing his lil spermies were in me hopefully making their way to my egg

2. What was your BD schedule?

Pretty much everyday around ovulation

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

I tested at 7dpo and got a BFN, I then tested not even 24 hrs later at 8dpo and got my BFP

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

I started taking Target Brand prenatals a few months before TTC

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? I had just gone off birth control pill. Used temping and charting, but this really just confirmed when I O'd, did not predict. We also used Pre-seed - Not every time, but about 3/ out of the 5 days before O. Did not use OPKs (but was planning to next month if we had gotten a bfn).

2. What was your BD schedule? See above!
We BD'd almost every day from AF to O (except I had fairly bad mid-month cramps so we did not end up BD'ing on the day before O or the day of O itself. We did it 5, 4, 3 and 2 days before O (and most days before that!) and that did it for us!

3. At how many dpo did you test? I was a freak and tested a lot. I got BFNs from 8 to 12dpo and swore I was out because it also felt like AF was coming in a big way. Got my BFP on 13 dpo.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)
I was taking prenatals to prepare my body, but I don't know whether that actually helped. Coming right off the pill may have had something to do with it: I have had very small follicular cysts in the past showing that my LH/FSH hormones were slightly off (reason I went on BCP in first place). I was not diagnosed with PCOS, but doctor told me if I wanted to get prego, to try right away after going off pill. I was on pill for 1.5 years. I was worried that it might be difficult for us to get pregnant, but it ended up happening about 17 days after I went off the pill (give or take a day). Other than that, we also prayed and used Preseed (with the Preseed, it was not every time, but about 3/ out of the 5 days before O). I also drink green tea a lot, but always have.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

None really. I was tracking my cycles with mmc but the cycle I got the BFP I was not really paying attention to anything or doing a good job of tracking.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

None. We did it whenever the mood struck us. The mood happened to strike us exactly on O day (when I went back and looked I realized that). A bottle of wine and a nice romantic dinner helped, I think. Chat Icon

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

23DPO... heh. Yeah, I kinda suspected something was up by then. Chat Icon

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

Aforementioned bottle of wine. Chat Icon And not paying attention to my cycle.

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

I really wasn't tracking this cycle since we were traveling so much. I just paid attention to my CM and went from there.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

When I got the EWCM we BD'd everyday until it dried up, so -2, -1 and O.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

12 DPO negative with digital but 13 DPO positive with FRER-- it's the golden number!!

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

I'm still in shock over my BFP. I can't believe I'm filling this out.

1. What method did you use to TTC? mymonthlycycles.com, one month prior to BFP, I started paying closer to CM. CM really does predict ovulation!

2. What was your BD schedule? We didn't really have a set schedule. We did it the old fashioned way - BD when we were in the mood. I thought we had to wait a month because we were apart during O time. I believe we BD once 5 days prior to O date.

3. At how many dpo did you test? I'm not exactly sure which day I ovulated but I think I tested 11DPO. I was having pregnancy symptoms. I thought I was making these symptoms up in my head.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.) I've been taking prenatal vitamins for about 3-4 months. I asked both my primary care physician and my obgyn a million questions. They both told me to have fun with it. We did have fun with it and we got pregnant on our first try.

I believe I ovulated a few days sooner than what I calculated my O day to be. I would recommend starting on Day 10, not necessarily try to time it so perfectly. You may ovulate sooner or later than what you may think.

Good luck to everyone! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon to all.

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

I never posted mine, here goes:

I had a M/C in Nov and D&C it took 4 months after that to get pregnant, the first two months we really didnt try hard cause either I was sick or DH was....The month we got pregnant we:

1. Temped, but it was my first month so I just was looking to confirm I ovulated
2. Clear blue easy digital OV test

3. First response digital test

4 Answer test

I decided to use 3 diff tests this month to really try to pinpoint.....I noticed that I got my smiley on cycle day 20 but no pos on the other two, on cycle day 21 i got another smiley and pos on the other two, on cycle day 22 no smiley but pos on the other two...ALso on cylcle day 21 I had sharp cramps (ov pains) and spotting...i googled and read though its rare women can have OV spotting...

we BD on cycle day 20 - 22 on cycle day 23 i noticed my temp changed so I assumed i had OV....I got my BFP on 13DPO got neg on 10 and 11 DPO, I really didnt have symptoms except my temp was up, no real cramping no sore boobs (those came later) Good Luck
