2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

What does this mean when you say NOTHING? I noticed a few other posters saying the same thing...do you mean you didnt BD????Chat Icon

the "nothing" was part of the question from the original poster and i think she meant that there wasnt a real bd-ing schedule, u just bd whenever, ya know?

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

keep in mind that i am only 10 DPO but i took two tests and got definite positives on both, so... here goes!!

1. What method did you use to TTC?

we used OPKs this month. i got a positive on CD12. i also used pre-seed - i had NO idea that regular lube was bad for sperm!!

2. What was your BD schedule?

DH and i only BD'd once before my positive OPK, on CD 9. when i got the positive, we BD on CD 12 and 13.

3. At how many dpo did you test?

at 9DPO, i used a strip test from early-pregnancy-tests.com (came with my order of preseed) and got a BFN. at 10DPO, i used another test from early-pregnancy-tests.com (another BFN) so then i used a fact plus and a FRER (first response) and got faint positives on both, although at about 10 minutes, the positives were much more visible.

i had symptoms this month that i could swear was just AF playing tricks on my mind, but i had to test to be sure.

at 5 DPO i had sore nips, but they went away for 2 days and came back at 8 DPO, along with achey/tingly boobs. at 6 DPO i had cramping in my lower abdomen, which i thought meant AF was coming, but the cramps lasted till 9DPO with no spotting, so i can only assume that was implantation cramping.

no other real clear symptoms, except my gums bled like CRAZY at 9DPO when i brushed and i smelled someone's baby formula at 9DPO and almost lost my lunch (i have friends with babies and that's never happened to me before).

4. Anything else that might have contributed?

the only other thing i was using consciously was b-complex vitamins because i'd been having a very short LP. i also drink green tea every morning, but that was something i did before i was TTC, so no idea if hat had any effect.

good luck to everyone!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? OPK's from early pregnancy tests.com

2. What was your BD schedule? Actually just went with the flow (no pun intended. I actually started testing with opks later in my cycle than I was in other months and BD then!

3. At how many dpo did you test? I actually held out and waited till AF was late. I tested the morning after AF was due with test strips from early pregnancy.com and Clear Blue Easy digital. Got two pos.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? Ate barilla plus (not sure if that had anything to do with it, multivitamins (always took them), baby asprin. I also did not sike myself up for it this month like I did every other month. I was just thinking if it happens this month, then it happens, if not then there is next month!

Just charted

Every 2 days.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

9 DPO and I got a strong BFP with Answer HPT and a big fat Pregnant on Clearblue easy digital

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

This is going to sound a bit odd and maybe funny...but after we BD I would lay on my back with my legs on the headboard. I was thinking gravity would help the swimmers Chat Icon

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

I charted my cycle to see the length, then this past month I used an OPK for the 1st time.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

No real schedule. I tried to BD when I was ovulating, but I was ovulating earlier than I thought was (Day 11-12)! The OPK helped me determine when I was ovulating. I got Chat Icon on the OPK for 2 days and we didn't BD until the next day after that (due to our schedules)! We really didn't BD that much after that one time... maybe once per week... It was a hectic month for us!

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

I tested at 12DPO and 13 DPO and got positives both times.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

Not sure... but I switched to whole milk everything after reading about it in the US News and World Reports Fertility Article.

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to do this!

You're welcome! Chat Icon

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. Only used MyMonthlycycles.com to figure out when I'd O

2. Week of O was 2 days on, 1 day off 2 days on, 1 day off and one more day

3. Just one test. I was something like 6 days late. And got a lil dizzy.

4. I held my butt up after each session. just about a fist worth and for about 5mins.

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC?

we used OPKs and I nearly OD'd on Robitussin/Mucinex. I took the maximum amount. I do not experience EWCM. It helped so much in that department.

2. What was your BD schedule?

DH always BD but made sure especially during the right times. Got a +OPK Day 14, 15 and BD both days then again on Day 17

3. At how many dpo did you test?

I tested 10dpo with Walgreens early response. Saw the line, DH did too. I was shocked! Held my urine for like 6 hours and then tested with one of those cheapy online ones and saw another positve. That night I did a digital test and totally positive.

I felt cramping at about 3 or 4 DPO which was not normal for me at all. I kept track of my symptoms the previous two months so I knew what was normal or not. The cramping just continued. I think the tell tale sign that I was preggo was the fact that I had severe insomnia beginning at around 7DPO. Totally not normal for me. I even said to DH that if I am not preggo this month there is something wrong and I need to go to the doctor. Okay, this is weird...my nipples were not sore...just weird looking...I even showedd them to DH and he said that they always looked like that but I knew the did not. I did not have any spotting or any other symptoms. My bb's were sore but the always are after I ovulate.

4. Anything else that might have contributed?
Just pure luck!Chat Icon Oh...and the bottle of Pinot I drank on New Year's eve may have helped! (I got my Positive opk on NYE!!)

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

I can't believe it's my turn to post on this thread! Chat Icon

1. What method did you use to TTC?
I used CBE OPK, and POAS midafternoon until I got a Chat Icon
I also charted my CM. I got EWCM 2 days before OPK+.

2. What was your BD schedule?
We BD'ed every day from EWCM until 2 days after Chat Icon..... yep 4 days in a row Chat Icon We did this becuase DH is young and could 'take it'.... but we both collapsed after that marathon!

3. At how many dpo did you test?
I tested 11DPO with a cheapo... and got either a faint positive, or an evap line Chat Icon I re-tested with a peeonastick.com recommended test on 12 DPO, and got a definite BFP!

4. Anything else that might have contributed?
took prenatals and non-fishoil DHA supplements (300 mg, as recommended by the FDA) since the month prior to BFP.
Since I'm in my mid-30's, we needed preseed Chat Icon , especially on days 3 and 4 of the marathon... that stuff is GOLDEN!

Also just plain good luck, and healthy living. I don't consume soda, artificial sweeteners, pre-packaged foods... not much caffeine either. We eat a lot of veggies, fruits, lean meat, nuts, and whole grains. I drink a lot of water and fruit juice. I also hate lowfat dairy.... I eat a lot of full-fat dairy.... cheeses, yogurt... coincidentally, I read that full-fat dairy somehow enhances fertility Chat Icon Fage yogurts all the way Chat Icon

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

It's finally my turn to post!!!!

AF was due today, and she didn't show which is wierd for me, unfortunatly she always shows up. I've had cramps for a few days now, but usually I have really sharp cramps. these are like a dull ache. I've been much more hungry the past few days which is strange bc right before I get AF I don't eat too much. I usually lose my appetite

What method did you use to TTC?

I used OPK's (CBE), 2 cups decaf green tea through O, Preseed every time we BD, no Caffeine at all, Kept my legs up for 20-30 min each time we bd

2. What was your BD schedule? BD CD 9 CD 11 and CD 12. Got the + OPK on CD 11.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

I tested at 8 and 10 DPO, got BFN. today is 16 DPO and got my BFP!!

4. Anything else that might have contributed? I had barrilla plus a few times for lunch during O time but it's just because we have switched over to that pasta.

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. No temping or anything, just watched my CM closely.

2. We BD'ed about every other day the week I noticed watery to EWCM.

3. I tested with a FRER at 10dpo with a BFN and got my BFP today at 11dpo.

4. I still take prenatals since I am still BFing. But nothing else. Oh I always would lie with my hips elevated for about 20 minutes after BDing.

Good luck ladies!Chat Icon

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

Oooh, I forgot to post here!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

I temped and knew pretty much exactly when I would O.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

BD'd when I first saw EWCM and then every night up to and including my O date. (total of 3 nights in a row)

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

First tested at 11dpo - AF was due that day my temp was up that morning (would've fallen if AF was coming) - faint BFP!!! Tested again at 13dpo and again BFP, this time a little stronger.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

I took Robitussen and baby carrots to help with CM - don't know if it worked really, but figured it couldnt' hurt. I only had one day of real EWCM, but it was a lot and I guess enough! I had also been taking prenatals for a while and this month I took B6 to help with my short LP. It was our first month officially trying, so I can't say whether it was just beginner's luck or if all of the stuff I did really helped the process.

Good luck! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

1. What method did you use to TTC? Just had sex for the entire week I ovulated (used webmd.com ovulation calendar for those dates and mymonthlycycles.com)

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.) Every day during O week

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!) I O'd the week of the 21st, and I got BFN's on 1/31 (8DPO), 2/1 (9DPO), 2/2 (10DPO) and 2/3 (11DPO) (I think it may have been those stupid old PG tests, which is why I always say to use fresh ones) and I got 5 positive ones on 2/4 and 2/5.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.) I was taking Geritol complete, along with 800 mg of folic acid for about a month before conceiving

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)
We used OPKs & I paid attention to my CM

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)
We BD'd everyother day until I saw EWCM. Then we did it everyday. So we BD'd for 2 days before +OPK, the day of the +OPK & the day after.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!) I used all FRERs. At 11DPO, I got a light, but definite BFP. At 12DPO I got a line so light that I wasn't sure if it was there or if my mind was playing tricks on me. I got another light, but definite BFP on 13DPO & at 14DPO I got a big, think & dark pink line.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)
I did the whole pillow under my butt thing for about 10 minutes after BDing on the days I have EWCM.

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

This is my second BFP. Last one ended in a chemical at 5 weeks. I used the same methods as last time and it worked again. I felt cramping at about 3 or 4 DPO which was the same exact symptoms I had last time. I had insomnia the past two nights and my nipples looked strange, not sore but just looked weird!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.) I used OPK's to determine if my cycle went back to normal after chemical last month. It did, so we tried.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.) BD every day up to and including day of +OPK. I wanted to BD two more days, but DH and I were not feeling well.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!) 10DPO BFP

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)
Overdosed on Robitussin the week before +OPK then two days after. I have no EWCM, so this helped greatly. I used it religiously both times I got my BFP.
I still take my prenatals that were prescribed last month.

First off, congrats to all those with recent BFPs! Wishing you a very happy and healthy 9 months!

A couple questions that might help those of us who are still TTC!

1. What method did you use to TTC? CM

2. What was your BD schedule? 1 time- we BD'ed as soon as I saw the CM when I wiped

3. At how many dpo did you test? tested the night before my AF was due

4. Anything else that might have contributed? dont think so
I was very lucky this time around. first month TTC and BD'ed once!

now with my first pg, it took us 11 months and I did all of that OPK tests, drove myself mad every month. had an HSG and got pg right after that.

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to do this!Chat Icon

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC?

This was my 5th month TTC. I had a m/c in Nov. I used CBEFM, took chewable baby aspirin every day, prenatal vitamins and non-fish DHA.

2. What was your BD schedule?

DH and I were BDing a lot the previous months so we decided to do it less last month. We BD'd CD 10, 14, 15 and 20. I got Peak readings at CD 14 & 15. I think I OV'd on CD 16.

3. At how many dpo did you test?

I tested at 12DPO just for the hell of it. I really didn't have many symptoms and thought I was out this month. DH told me for days before my BFP that he had a feeling that this was it!

4. Anything else that might have contributed?

I think BDing less was the key for us. I had poor DH jumpin' on me almost everyday in the months prior! Chat Icon I figured we needed more quality swimmers so we just BD'd right at my Peak readings. It worked!!

For those ladies who are waiting to test and don't have symptoms, don't worry. I really did not have any notable symptoms at all this PG. The only thing I noticed was some mild cramps/twinges around 6-8DPO, also sensitive nips and my left nip has been itchy around the same time! Bizarre!! My first PG that ended up in a m/c- I had aching boobs, horrible taste in my mouth and just felt PG. What I'm saying is... ya just never know!!

Best of luck to all of you fabulous ladies! I pray that you all get your BFPs this month!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
