You use these as examples of illegals stealing American jobs and working illegally.

My DH co-owns two restaurants in NYC. Most of his kitchen staff is made up of people who are undocumented. They have working papers and pay taxes. They are also the hardest workers you will ever meet. Not all undocumented people are trying to cheat the US government- most aren't. They are so appreciative of anything, my DH gave them small Christmas bonuses- with COVID it was all he could afford, and they were crying they were so thankful. They are human beings, who weren't as lucky as we were to be born in the US (although I use lucky loosely these days).
They want to give their children a better life. Isn't that what every parent wants?
As for the bringing COVID into the US comment...so you want the US wide open because most people don't die and we need to get on with life. But those seeking asylum, them bringing COVID is somehow more dangerous that packing Madison Square Garden with 5,000 people?

Totally agree with you about you husband’s employees. Most immigrants I know documented and undocumented are hard working people who want to live the American dream. I think people are possibly pointing out hypocrisies such as lock it down stay home no mass gathering and then open the borders. Not saying that is what is happening but that could be the perception.

I can read. You said "get ready- it's coming back now". That's great that you know *gasp* legal immigrants. I wonder if they know Trump did not give two craps about getting rid of gangs. He wanted to get rid of undocumented minorities- which he would constantly label as gang members and drug users.
Honestly, the real problem here is these poor children who don't stand a chance. America can provide that chance for them and people just want to send them back. Where they will probably die.

I also don’t understand the continued confusion about asylum and asylum-seekers. Seeking asylum is not illegal. In addition, prior to the the passing of ARP, asylum-seekers had to come to this country to seek asylum. They couldn’t do it remotely so the only way to do it was to come to the boarder. It also infuriates me that the United States government refuses to take responsibility for the way central America is today. US government caused the destabilization of the central American governments allowing the corruption and devastation seem today

I have friends who live in Brentwood. They, along with many in their neighborhood, loved trump because he helped get rid of the gangs From their neighborhood. They took so many steps in the right direction and now they fear that the gangs will emerge again. This is straight from their mouth....people who literally live in the heart of Brentwood where gangs took over their neighborhoods. They are terrified when they see and hear what is going on.
Remember before trump took office, all the stories of ms-13 on the news....have you heard about it the last 4 years? Get ready, it’s coming back now.

My friends are my brother in laws workers, actually from Central America. LEGAL immigrants who *gasp* were pro trump because they felt safe with him in office. My mouth hit the floor when they said they liked trump. And I didn’t say ms-13 was back. Can you read? They see the writing on the wall with what is going on.

My DH co-owns two restaurants in NYC. Most of his kitchen staff is made up of people who are undocumented. They have working papers and pay taxes. They are also the hardest workers you will ever meet. Not all undocumented people are trying to cheat the US government- most aren't. They are so appreciative of anything, my DH gave them small Christmas bonuses- with COVID it was all he could afford, and they were crying they were so thankful. They are human beings, who weren't as lucky as we were to be born in the US (although I use lucky loosely these days).
They want to give their children a better life. Isn't that what every parent wants?
As for the bringing COVID into the US comment...so you want the US wide open because most people don't die and we need to get on with life. But those seeking asylum, them bringing COVID is somehow more dangerous that packing Madison Square Garden with 5,000 people?
Totally agree with you about you husband’s employees. Most immigrants I know documented and undocumented are hard working people who want to live the American dream. I think people are possibly pointing out hypocrisies such as lock it down stay home no mass gathering and then open the borders. Not saying that is what is happening but that could be the perception.
My husband has workers from Honduras and El Salvador (all legal), He pays them very well, and gives them Christmas bonuses, provides their families with turkeys, and the fixings for Thanksgiving. They are thankful, and do ask for raises, and he gives it to them when he can,but when he needs ana extra worker, there are many GREEDY ones, who get insulted when you tell them how much they going to be paid. Some do get so greedy, they want to be paid big bucks, get lunch provided to them, and sometimes even a ride. Kind of like they feel entitled.

Of course those people exist. But entitled people exist through all walks of life, all cultures, immigrants, American citizens, etc.

Did you not see the influx of people trying to come in as soon as they found out Biden was elected? They knew they would open the Borders as we can’t possible have a fence to protect Americans but we need one for months to protect them in the Capitol.
They crossed the border during the end of trump's administration because they knew in 2 months it would be easy to cross? 
Every year without fail this is the time of year where the numbers of border crossings grow and grow --springtime!
