I give every chance i try too...i was afraid for a bit but got over my fear and said this is nothing. So 2+ years i've been giving, every 3/4 months
Giving blood can save lives and you can make a difference.

I used to donate regularly but I haven't donated in a few years. I need to start again. I always liked doing it because it really doesn't take much and you could be saving someone's life.

I can't. I would like to, and my mom used to donate whenever she could, but then they said that since we lived in the UK in the early 80's we can't donate, for fear that we carry mad cow disease. 
I went to donate 2 years ago and was turned down for the same reason. If you lived in Ireland or the UK for more than 6 months prior to 1995, you can't donate. I'm a pretty good candidate for mad cow seeing as my mother fed us beef every single day when we were kids

i would like to donate blood but i can't b/c i'm under weight and plus i've had mono in the past the and the doctor told me that my blood wasn't eligible for donating. at first i was scared with needles and all but i say its the same as when you get blood taken at your doctors etc.

I was told they probably won't take mine because I have EBV. Also, once I was turned Away before this, they said I was too pale. LOL

I try to go as often as possible. I have CMV Negative (ultra pure) blood with is very important for premature infants and many other things but I feel like they are hounding me all the time... and I am getting
 with them....
I am CMV negative too and then developed anemia about 2 years ago. They STILL call about 3 times a month!

I donate on a regular basis...even though I always have some sort of problem. I have terrible veins and it is too the point where when they have a blod drive at work they always make the same guy do it-b/c he is the only one who I haven't had a problem with. Usually my vein collapses about 1/2 way through.
But, when my mom was delivering my brother she had major complications and was hemoraghing, and received 28!!!!! pints (yes, everyones jaw drops when i say that) of blood transfused just in the OR, not counting a few more during her recovery. She was very critical after having him - my Dad had to leave the OR and one of the Dr.'s actually came out and told him that she was bleeding so fast that they were not sure she was going to make it. I was almost 9 yrs old so I remember how sick she was vividly.
With that said, I donate as much as possible, to me it is a small price to pay to help save a life, and the very least I could do to give back to someone else. If others didn't donate my Mom wouldn't be here.
