My original goal was to see how long I could do it. In the beginning I thought I would quit after a month. We went 26 months.

WHen you guys say that you EBF for a long time (like 16 months) do you mean no solids or just no formula?
Liam is BF and at 6 months he is eating a bunch of solids. Does that mean that he is not EBF? No formula yet.
Anyway, to answer the OP. I plan to make it to a year with no formula. But, it is geting really really tough. I just can't pump enough at work for the next day. I added a night time pump and it was all good. Then came a huge growth spurt this week. I started Fenugreek. I don't see a difference yet and I smell like I got hit by a pancake truck. ..... So  I may be forced to supplement with formula. I feel like such a failure.

i hope to be able to BF for a year. DD is 8 weeks old, and I anticipate needing to supplement when i go back to work (i have great supply for nursing, but when pumping my supply is awful). so she won't be EBF for a year, but will get as much BM as possible for the year.

We BF'd until DD was 10 months. She self-weaned, which was fine by me!

I BF DS1 for 9 months. I was partially supplementing with formula from 4 months on because I was working and unable to pump. I nursed for all feedings we were together.
With DS2, I was home. I EBF (no formula except when he was in the NICU and the occasional times we went out) until he was 14 months. I was home with him so I didn't have to pump.
For the AP who asked about EBF - my definition is no formula or minimal formula. Solids are expected at the age they start solids (for both my DS, it was 6 months)

Chloe is 9 months old now and i still BF. I love it and I think she does too  I will be going back to work when she is 1, so I am going to start weaning her a few weeks before that for 1 or 2 feedings. I am hoping to still do the morning and night time feeding for a while longer or until she is not interested anymore.

DD is 9 months and we are still going. Neither of us is ready to give it up. My goal is to make it to a year, at which point I will joyfully shove my pump in a closet and not look at it for a looooong time. After that I will try to keep up morning/evening sessions for as long as my supply holds up or until she self-weans.

EBF means no formula.
Don't feel like a failure.  You're doing great! I've been struggling to make enough for the past few months and I've gone through almost my entire freezer stash. I get up early in the morning to pump and I try to pump several times each weekend to help me during the week. I also recently got More Milk Plus, which seems to help a little.

I nursed my twins for a year, we stopped on their birthday. I wish I could have gone longer but with being pregnant again and feeling sick all the time, it was time to stop.

I'm at 9 months and going strong, especiallysince we got past the whole biting issue! I original plan was to make it to a year but after talking to Frankie's pediatrician, I'm going to try for 18months to 24months
