ok so this is a little further west of Levittown, but probably close to the Southern State....I've heard really good things about this place but never been, check out the pics on yelp, looks very loungy and comfortable, and I think they get a bigger night crowd so we'd probably have plenty of room to sit around and knit if we went there in the afternoon.....just throwing it out there Chat Icon

Link: The Witches Brew

The only other place I can think of is the Library Cafe in Farmingdale, only b/c I know it's good for groups and they won't "kick you out" LOL (since we had a TTC gtg there and we were there like 4 hours!).

Farmingdale may work since its sort of like "halfway" between nassau and suffolk girls...

I think a coffee place would be good (like starbucks?) since they can't really kick you out. I've gotten coffee w/ friends before and sat there for hours! Or maybe a casual eatery type place like Panera or Cosi?

There's a Starbucks on 110 in Farmingdale next to Sky Drive. Maybe that could work.

Ok, there's also a Starbucks on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown (same shopping center where Dortoni's Bakery is)....but it doesn't matter to me since I'll be driving about the same distance either way from Queens Chat Icon

I'll have to pop in and look at the Levittown one again, but I think the Farmingdale one has better seating options.

And if that doesn't work out there are other places on 110 we can use as backups just in case (like casual eatery wise- i think there is a panera right near there too)

Mmmmmm Panera...

ETA: PS I have my 5 1/2 year old DD crocheting chains and casting on stitches for knitting (I taught her a slip knot a while ago) so if anyone wants me to try and teach them I think I can do it!!!Chat Icon

Re: Now That I'm Thinking About It...

I haven't had a chance to check the Levittown Starbucks yet, but I was in the Farmingdale location on Wednesday and they got new furniture since the last time I was in there. They have a long wood table that would be good for us!

Re: Now That I'm Thinking About It...

The only days in June I'm available are Sunday the 3rd or Saturday the 30th, lol. I have birthdays parties, anniversary parties, and DD's dance rehearsals and recital, lol.

What days are good for everyone else?

Ok, how's 7/7 or 7/14 for everyone? (I'm in Virginia 7/8-7/13 but could probably swing either of those dates!).

7/1 i'm flying back to NY at noon. If i'm not too tired maybe I can meet you guys.

7/7 might work. Was supposed to attend a family reunion with DH that weekend but not 100% sure.

Any weekend after that works for me!
