I sooo know what your going through., IT sounds a LOT like me.
I went from 3.7 to 3.0 and then 2.7 in a week.
Good news is I stayed at 2.7 from week 29 till I delivered at just 5 days before my due date.
I was checked with FFN's and Cervical length sonos weekly ( FFNS bi weekly) till week 35 ( at that point, insurance stopped paying b/c delivery was acceptable to them at that stage  )
But trust me, as you scan see, it can ALL turn out fine...
So I DO understand how scared you were. Remember my posts of freaking out???
They will watch you and you are in good hands with your Dr's.

I started contracting at 28 weeks. I had ffn's and they measured my cervix. Mine was the same as yours, went from 3.7, then 3, and I believe even a little lower than that. I was taken out of work at 34 weeks, because I was dialating. I ended up having my son on his due date. I hope the same happens for you. Good luck. I am sure your drs will keep on top of it!

the saga continues...
i've still been contracting a lot, but less so with the terbutaline... i thought everything was going fine...
but it looks like my cervix is starting to shorten - went from 3.7cm to 3.0cm in the past 2 weeks. no dilation, thank goodness.
my fetal fibronectin test result comes back on friday - just hoping that that is negative, so i'm "safe" for another two weeks. either way, the doc may put me on bedrest... i'm just so terrified of giving birth like tomorrow... 
UPDATE!!
my fetal fibronectin was NEGATIVE!!! meaning i am in the clear and free to go about my business for the next 2 weeks.
my glucola test was also NEGATIVE!!!!
so relieved... 
I'm SOO glad all is ok for you. Keep taking it easy if you can and stay well
