My appt. w/ Genetic Counselor

DH and I went last night after I was told I had a balanced translocation. I am still al ittle confused but here is some of what I got out of it:
They cover your family tree, parents, aunts ,uncles, cousins and your cousin's kids.
I am still a little confused by it all. They illustrated to us that part of my #10 chromosome attached itself to my #1. They said I never would have known if not for this and it is no big deal for me but they are concerned with my child if the chromosomes misplace again.
They gave me 4 scenarios that could happen, but that even tho it seems like I have a 25% chance of either of these 4 things happening, the percentage is not that way. They said probably 90% chance I will have a normal baby. (I am pretty sure they said this) But they said the miscarriage percentage is higher due to age.

They also said PGD is not necessary and they said it is not even good. They said it actually misses alot of things and that amnio and CVS are best. They are going to mail me a packet and I guess it will explain it better. I am still confused and I still don't have the answer as to why I keep having mc's and not getting pg in over a year. Wer bd'd last night, I said the hell with it.
I know this isnt much info, I should have asked more questions. It seemed my age was the biggest problem really. I have to tell you, I really don't feel like I have gotten any horribly bad news, so I am optimistic. When I get the packet in the mail, I will let u all know more, some of this info might be wrong because it is all so much to absorb.
