Moms of Boys: Do you wipe when DS just pees or just change the diaper?
We've been only changing diapers and not wiping him private area when changing pee diapers. However, we wipe both the front and back when he has a poopy diaper. Just curious what other mommies did.

I still wipe..9 times out of 10 he has some trace of poop anyway lol..he's BF'd.

After an overnight diaper, I always wipe. Other times depends on if I'm in a rush or not.

FYI this topic about 6 months ago resulted in a rather hot debate...
summary of the debate:
there are 2 camps... the 'wipers' and the 'nonwipers'.... you are definitely not alone in not using a wipe for a pee diaper.
As for me, I do... mainly becuase the diaper creme on his toosh may retain some pee.... my particular brand seems to get 'moister'... I wonder if that could contribute to a diaper rash if he subsequently pooped  I just wipe to be on the safe side...

I don't wipe every time it is a wet diaper. Typically, only the overnight diaper!

I do not wipe, he is never "wet" after a diaper, who why would it? And urine is sterile anyway

I'm not trying to cause drama! I promise it was a very innocent question.
I want to wipe/wash/soap/lotion DS a lot more than I do now but I haven't because I think I am nit supposed to. I am glad it is ok to wipe DS after peeing. It was bugging me.

Honestly, I don't think you should wipe/wash/soap/lotion too much, it isn't good for them.
I don't use diaper cream unless he has a rash (and his first one was at ONE) just a little A&D if it was a messy poop. And my DS gets baths every other day and his skin is fine.
No reason to over do it

for about the first year of his life, I never really wiped when he only had a pee pee diaper.
Now, I do for every diaper change.

I wipe every diaper (pee or #2) I never even thought you are not suppose to wipe every diaper... 
Thanks for this Q ~ I will discuss with my pediatrician on Wed and see what she has to say on this topic

with the breast milk- the diapers- which are changed at least at every 3 hour feeding... always have some poopy in it.. so it always gets a wipe.
ds cries though cause the wipe is cold

I do not use wipes for pee diapers for my dd, unless it is the first morning change, then I do use a wipe
wipes are NOT necessary for pee, although many people use them every time
there is not right or wrong, it is what you are comfortable with

Good thing for my 11 foot pole. I store it right where the LIFers think I do.

i do the same,...its not necessary to wipe a pee pee diaper

I wipe every time, except when we are in a public bathroom and he's squirming all over the place. Then I want to get out of there fast and only wipe if it's poop.
