Would you say that you are done having babies even if you had your first at 35 or older? If not, when what age would you say is your personal cut off? Keep in mind you only have one child at this point.

I AM 37... but I had AJ at 33. I always said 36 or so was my cut off. If by 36 I had no intentions of having more children, I'd seriously consider 'closing shop' if you will.

Well at 34, I was pretty damned sure. At 37 I'm positive. However I HAVE a child. I think if I had none, I'd still give it a go. I mean I have the energy. Its that first few years at are roughest. At 4, she's a handful but there's routine. KWIM?

If I WANTED more children, 37 wouldn't stop me. I don't want more but my age had noting to do with it. But 37 is still reaching a bit for me.

I figure what? 20yrs minimum? My Dad adopted 3 kids at 42. He did very well. So I have a basis to believe 40 is a good limit.

I am 37. Had DS at 33. We are NOT done. I definately want another by next fall (I better get crack a lackin I guess ). I want to start trying in 2 months. I would be a little over 38 for next baby.

IF all goes well & DH gets a better job in the next year & half I will consider ONE more but not getting pregnant past 40 years old for me.

Before even having children, I wanted to have my last child at 30. Life happened and I had my first child at 39 . I said I would only have 1. After having my DD, I wanted another. My cut off was 40 but life had other plans... Will give birth to #2 one month shy of turning 42. (with help from an RE)

I was pregnant and gave birth to my first son at 36 and then had complications (we would have tried for #2 sooner) but I needed to wait to have #2 ~ In my head my cutoff was before 40 but because of circumstances we got pregnant with #2 at 40 and I gave birth just shy of being 41. We are done ~ I had really bad complications after #2 (almost didn't make it) I have come to the conclusion my body loves being pregnant and gets mad when the babies are out. (I have had complications after each baby a week or two after they are delivered)

I'm 36 now and have a 3.5 yr old and a 14 month old. I'm pretty sure I'm done, but sometimes I think I want another. I have two boys and think... Maybe I'd go or try for a girl. Even if I had another boy I'd be happy too b.c I love my boys.
I also recently became a SAHM after work for so many years. Now I really enjoy being a mom, but at the end of the day I'm exhausted and think.l. Hmmm, this is it b.c I also want some time to enjoy me and DH time, me time, friends time, etc. I look at friends eith older kids that when we get together their kids run upstairs to play and we can chat and I'm on top of my little ones.


If I did win the lotto then yes, I'd try for another b.c it would be nice to hire a nanny once in a while so I can run errands and do stuff. Since I haven't I'm happy with two now.. That's today. Lol.

I was 32 when DS was born.

I had my niece at 35 and we TTC'd as soon as we could, but it took us over a year to conceive.

I am 37 (will be 38 in Dec) and DD will be born in 23 days.

I am done. At the beginning if this pregnancy, I was saying I wanted 1 more but Aarhus pregnancy progresses I am not sure I can physically or emotionally handle being pregnant again.

I had my DD at 37 and can definitely say I'm done. I'm VERY appreciative that I was able to become pregnant, but quite honestly, I didn't really enjoy it. So, for that reason alone, I wouldn't do it again.

My "life plan" when I was much younger and imagined the future was married at 25, first kid at 28, second at 30 and done.

Life had other plans for me. I was 30 when we got married.

We started TTC at 33. Again life had other plans - we needed help. With the help of a RE we now have twins. I gave birth at 34.

They are a year old now.

We are done. Done. D. O. N. E.

Maybe if we had 1 baby I would go for a second, but I'm not sure about that. The newborn phase was exhausting to both of us and I did not have a good pregnancy at all. I had a lot of complications including hospital bedrest and I don't think I could handle a toddler with those complications.

I'm 34 going to be 35 in January.....had my first at 30 and my second at 32.....my dh and i had been together for 12yrs before marriage and when we talked about having kids it was always just 2 but lately we realized that we actually wanted to try for another.....i sometimes wish we got married sooner so that we wouldve had our first at a younger age and so on but we didnt soooooo.....my cutoff has always been 35 .....this is our 3rd month of trying and if we're not pregnant we're skipping october possibly november and december....i turn 35 in january and i dont know if i want to continue trying then, we'll see since it was always my cutoff age....but like others have said i do have two children already, if i didnt then i might think differently about the age 35 so as to have my first child

I am 37 now, I had my DD at 33 and I am currently pregnant with #2 who will be born right before I turn 38. I always wanted three kids but DH and decided that we will be happy and content and with two. That feels like a complete family to us. If by some miracle we conceived again we would both be thrilled but we both feel that 40 is our absolute cutoff for babies, I really would not want to be pregnant again or add more kids after that point.

ETA - I actually never anticipated having kids so late in life, DH and I married at 23 but we lived out of state for a while and didn't want kids until we were back in NY, then we couldn't get pregnant easily, ended up at an RE and long story short.........we were in our 30's before we had our DD. We always wanted at least two kids, ideally three, which is why we HAD to adjust our cutoff age for children since it took us a while to have #1. Ideally, I had wanted to be done by 30 but life had other plans for me.

I am more ready now, but still some days on the fence.....I would personally prefer my DD be in school full time, so she has a life outside of me caring for a baby.

If I have one child, then that is that. I could go either way, have another child or not. I loved being pg but honestly don't like the baby and infant stage. I wish I could go right to toddlerhood, lol. So it's a toss up for me. Of course as you get older your risks increase, but IMO those risks are not great enough to stop me IF I decide I definitely want to have a child again.

Had DD at 38, and DS at 39

We wanted 2 kids, went through 2 years of IF to conceive DD.

Even if I had, had DD at 35-36 when we had planned, I would have been done after the 2nd one.

There is something to be said for having your kids at a young(er) age!

I had my 1st DD right before I turned 39. I gave birth to my 2nd DD just after I turned 41. I am done now! I never thought it would take as long as it did to get pg, when I was younger I wouldn't have imagined I'd be as old as I was when I had kids, but I didn't get married until I was 35.

Just had DD @ 40 via IVF. Married DH @ 36 and started trying right away. No luck but I think I would have another one if I could. I loved being pregnant but I'm not sure I would have all the energy I would need for 2 under 2.

I was blessed once and I say this while DD is still just over 3 mo. maybe I should wait till she's walking to replay answer this....

I was 34 when I had DS. We are currently trying for another and I am now 35.5. So hopefully that'll happen soon. I'd like to be done having babies by 40.

I just had my 1st (DS) and I am 35. DH & I already discussed having #2. We are going to start TTCing in the Spring. My dream is to have 3 DC and DH is on board. I cant really say I have a cut off but if it were up to me, I would prefer to be done w/pregnancy by the time I am in my early 40s. I was very fortunate and had an AMAZING pregnancy and actually miss it sometimes, although I much more prefer that DS is here, obviously. I guess, like I said, if it were up to me, I would have DC#2 when I am 36.5 and then have DC#3 when I am 38/39. We will see.......

I had DS at 31. I always thought my cut off would be 35, but 35 is when I started trying for #2. Took a few months and I will be 37 when I deliver my twins. I never dreamed I would be this age having kids, but life happens, and this is how it worked out for me.

I am 41 and have had three miscarriages in the past 16 months. I said I was done after my last miscarriage but my heart aches for another baby so I am giving myself a few months to get my physical and emotional strength up to speed and then I think we will try again.....I just dont feel "done"....I dont feel like I am in the 40's and I dont look like I am in my 40's so maybe I can swing it....

Meant to say that I have two kids already - a 6 year old and a 3 year old and I would just love another one of them

I was over 40 when I had DD. For me I was lucky enough to get pregnant in the first place.

I never really put a cut off on it bc my mom had my sister at 41 by surprise, LOL. I had DS at 34, hes turning one in a few weeks and I'm starting to think about #2, we'll see how it goes.

We started TTC at 36 (married at 34). Finally had DS at 39. We TTC six months after DS was born and here I am at 41 and while I dont want to be, I am done, for now. If circumstances with insurance coverage change, I might give it another whirl. I can say that there is something to be said for having children young. I am very tired....
