mirena/period/length of cycle question

I had mirena inserted last april. i was BFing until December, so I wasn't getting my period for a long time. at some point, it did come back, and i think it was fairly regular, but very light. i had one period in early march, and then seemed to miss the next one. i had my annual exam april 4, and said i couldnt remember my last period, but thought it was 4-5 weeks earlier. based on the ultrasound (which he did to check that mirena was still in good position because he couldn't feel the strings), he said i was about to ovulate--saw and egg about to release. said that i was probably 2 weeks into my cycle, and i just skipped a period because of mirena. so, i wasn't surprised 2 weeks later when i had no period. but, i just got it tonight--3 weeks after i supposedly ovulated. does this sound right? is something wrong? i've googled long luteal phase and everything seems to say it can't be more than 16 days or so. this would be about 21-22 days. is it possible i get pregnant on mirena and this is like a miscarriage?? (if that is what is happening, i want it out because I am not ok with that.) is it possible that i am ovulating more frequently? anyone have any experience?

Re: mirena/period/length of cycle question

after the initial spotting I never had AF while on Mirena. I would have cramping and clear 'discharge' once per month but that was it. No bleeding at all

I got Mirena inserted while I was still BF. I haven't had a period at all since giving birth. They say that you can have irregular spotting while on it so that could be what you saw.

I don't have an answer for you but I think everyone is different and I wouldn't worry. I have been spotting/period for a month and supposedly its normal Chat Icon I heard after a couple of months everything "settles down"

I've heard that, too. But I've had it in for a year now (actually, 1 year today exactly), so I would think I should be "settled".

I had it after # 2 was born and I had no problems with it whatsoever. Got AF right on time, it was lighter than normal, but right on time. It IS possible to get pregnant with it though, happened to a friend of mine.
