This is probably a stupid question about your cycle length...

but when someone says their cycle is 28 days or however long, are they EXACTLY 28 days every month? Or is it like 27 one month, maybe 28 a couple of months, 29 another, etc? Or is it actually like clock work?

My cycle varies between 29-30days, so I doubt anyone is exactly 28 days (or whatever) every month. If they are, then they are very lucky!!

I think it's more accurate to say how long your last cycle was. Although, there ARE some women that are pretty consistent with their cycle length - whether it's 28 days or 26days or 30, etc.

FWIW, before I started BC, I had a 28 day cycle every month and it only varied VERY rarely (I now know how uncommon that is and how lucky I was then - even if I wasn't ready to TTC at the time).

I would usually say a range IE: cycle btwn 35-40 days since it varied every month. The trend, I have seen on here, is most women are VERY reg and they say 28days and they mean 28days to the hour

I was like clock work from the time I got my period at at 12 til I had my son at at 30. Even then I'd have a cycle or 2 each year that would swicth it up by a day or 2. Now my cycles are not quite so set, but still very regular.

I am on a 28 day cycle. Usually it's right on target, but every now and then it'll be just a tad off. Like every once in a while it'll come a day early or a day late. But never more than that. So i doubt anybody's ALWAYS right on like clockwork, without being on BC. Maybe though
