Masks Optional for Summer School
Honestly I am sick of this crap. My kids are at a summer camp all summer at Kiddie academy with no masks. If they have to go back to masks in September I'm gonna lose it. Is the mask mandate over? I have not been wearing one except to go into clients homes...

I think it's over with the exception of schools, doctors/hospitals, and mass transit. I have not worn a mask anywhere in about two weeks. My kids are maskless at camp. That being said, my principal did tell us earlier this week that with the Delta variant here now, masks in schools in September are quite likely.

I was in a theme park with crowd levels you couldn't even imagine and no masks and zero distancing anywhere, and packed one on top of another as 5000 people tried to get in the gates at opening nd if I didn't catch anything there, I will never catch anything anywhere.
Kids in school have nothing on the shit that went on there.

I believe that. This past winter I was saying that the 2021/2022 cold and flu season is going to be off the charts since we have all been sanitzing and wearing face coverings. Our immune systems are going to be shot to sh!t. TBH I really don't have a problem with kids wearing masks in school...for forever but I'll take just the winter months. LOL
My son is in summer school and as of now they still need to wear masks. I guess I will see what next week brings.

That's interesting. 3 of the girls I work with are down HARD with some kind of summer cold/virus.
One swore it was Covid even though she's vaccinated because the fatigue was so bad. Got tested and negative. I was surprised how many people are sick right now

Nope there is not. At this point it should be optional. The only place I have encountered everyone having to wear them is the doctor and dentist office.

The CDC just announced that they recommend that vaccinated students and teachers can go without masks. So I doubt Cuomo will go against their decision...

This is just the CDC - we shall see what Cuomo says. Our district said they will eliminate masks as soon as Cuomo gives the OK.
My kids are not yet eligible and we are pretty sure we will not be getting it for them anyway so I am interested to see how this plays out. I am nervous that it will be required as many have predicted.

Exactly and the media is scaring people with these variants as people are not using their common sense that this is nothing new.
The difference between The flu variants and the variants of this is they update the flu shot every year to include new ones, there is also tamiflu to help stave off severe flu. They know more about Covid than they did last year, but not enough to save everyone. Especially as the new variants come about.
** disclaimer: not pushing vaccine on anyone, just my observation. Flu and Covid are similar in some ways and very different in others. Especially proven treatments available**
