Long time poster in hiding, need opinions about MIL
Ok, as I said I am a long time poster but I'm in hiding for 2 reasons, 1 just found out that I am PG again (this makes 3 I'm a late 08 mommy) and 2 I know I have lurkers.
Anyway I dont know if its hormones or what but my MIL totally pi$$ed me off yesterday. Let me preface by saying I do love my MIL, she is a very nice person and would give you the shirt off her back, but she does tend to be VERY overbearing and passive aggressive. Yesterday my whole family was over and my 2 DC were playing, my baby is in his cruising stage so he was cruising around, i was within 10 feet of him, my SIL was within 25 feet of him, MIL gets all nervous watching my son and said "SIL WATCH THE BABY" ummm what I'm his mother and I'm right here. She totally makes me feel like an incompetant mother, with everything: feeding, bottles, clothing, diaper changes, dr appts, she needs to question everything i do and it drives me to the brink of insanity, I was almost in tears yesterday because it feels like she doesnt think I can take care of my own kids or worse that I dont care. Am I justified?

Did she say it in sort of a rough way? Is SIL her daughter? Maybe if she kind of yelled it, her natural reaction was just to yell at her own daughter instead of you. Some parents just have to put their 2 cents in on everything and will disagree with you about everything. I don't think it means she thinks you are a bad parent...she just might have done things differently and feels the need to say so. I'm sorry she upset you.

I would let it go now..but next time i'd say..it's okay MIL mommy's got this one-no worries in a nice yet to the point way.
I think it's a natural thing for grandmother's to do since both of mine do it and my own grandmother does it..so in a room i have 3 other mothers for my kiddies :)
Just not worth getting upset over...jmo

sorry to hijack but so many people think you are me. I am not preggo and for those of you that know me you now know for sure that this isnt me becuase.....you all know I DONT LOVE or even like my MIL.
