why do you think people care so much about boys having long hair???

I'm not sure, my guess would be b/c convention dictates that girls wear long hair and boys keep their hair short. Sort of like their hair defines who they are gender-wise.

Personally for me, I think it looks horrible. I dont like it on men or little boys. When they start to look girl-ish its time for a cut. JMHO

i dont think its someone caring so much,its because it looks so darn cute (havent seen the ones you mentioned, just saying in general).

my boys' hair grows in very thick and does not flow into loose curls, so they wouldnt get a cute look (well I havent really given it a chance )

but i do LOOVE long hair on little boys...
thats one of the reasons I dont cut their hair till past their 1st bday (it still curls up until then

I think long hair on boy looks good when they are in High school and beyond...then when they get into their late 30's early 40's time to cut that $hit!!

I guess b/c it's not the societal norm.

I *used* to make comments like that until I tried to bring my daughter to get her first haircut. The crying and screaming was so embarassing we just came home and I don't care if she ends up with hair so long she's tripping on it.

long hair on men/older boys is a LOVE or HATE thing
I tell ya my brothers had long hair all their lives (rock n roll kinda hair), and the girls in Italy simply drooled when we came to town

It really is a love or hate thing.
my mom bribed them all their lives to cut it, whenthey finally did (well into their late 20's), the offer wasnt still standing
she offered them $1,000

besides from DH, i ONLY like long haired guys

if i ever have a son i would love for him to have a mohawk as a baby and then grow his hair long as a kid

i don't like it at all

the majority of guys i've seen who have had long hair - it's long, stringy, and ratty. it doesn't seem like men take the time to comb it or style it or even care that it looks nasty.

I LOVE shorty-short hair on boys AND men. It's just so masculine looking to me. Long hair on boys/men to me equates to feminine. Blech.

I don't know why anyone else cares, I don't have much of an opinion on it for other people.

But for my son, I just got him buzzed LOL
as the barber called it " the tick free haircut" its much easier to maintain, less time between haircuts, cooler for the summer and I can easily spot ticks!

I like long hair on anyone, as long as it is clean. I have seen some baby girls with long hair that looks a mess.

I would love to do a cute little mohawk if i have a by someday but like the others said when it looks silly when they get mistaken for a girl - and it doesn't do anything for their self esteem if they get teased about it.
