I'm so sorry to hear this Rachel. I hope everything works out for your DH and he finds another job really soon. My DH might be laid off as well at the end of the year. We don't know yet. I hate the economy!!! It is just so hard on everyone right now!!

We just laid off over 1000 people at here too.
If there is anything I can do from an HR perspective (help with resume, find a good headhunter, etc.) please let me know.

I am so sorry! I hope that he is able to find something soon.
When we bought our home I was laid off. We kept it hush-hush from everyone and we pushed the closing up so that the mortgage company wouldn't back out. I was fortunate to get my current job now (took 21 days from the time HR called me in).
It all worked out and it will for you too!
