is there any negative to giving pedialyte??
the ped told us to pick it up when we got DD's prescription for the strep throat. how do you know when they need it? what if I give it and she didn't really need it?

Is she having a hard time taking bottles or BFing? My friend who is a NICU nurse recommended that I get it when DS was sick and not taking fluids. He ended up taking apple juice out of a cup, so we never used it, but honestly, I don't think it will hurt her at all.
My friend told me to get a flavored kind and to cut it.

she's taking her usual bottles, she's just so cranky - I feel so bad for her. it's hard to tell if she has diarrhea, because she gets 100% breastmilk, so it's always loose.

Some of them have extra sugar added so make sure to cut it with water.

I think I'm going to give her some - she's crying and cranky, but I don't see a lot of tears. I will definitely cut it with some water.

If she's taking her regular bottles and she gets 100% BM, then I really don't know why she would need the pedialyt. BF babies rarely get dehydrated.
My DS was vomiting and then had diarrhea last week. I read up on KM at that time. Basically, it will have a really awful smell if he has diarrhea.
