omg! I am PIMP reading Irene's comments  I hate getting waxes but I love it the next day when I realize that I have a month of no hair worries.
it's COMPLETELY different...only grabs the HAIR not the SKIN....all the turkish women do it. Nature's Touch in Setauket is excellent and so is Daisy Spa in Centereach. I would NEVER EVER let a nail salon lady wax me...they have NO IDEA what they are doing!
Totally agree. Daisy Spa rocks.. she is awesome.. it literally doesnt even hurt. She also thread my lip and THAT FREKKIN HURTS. Way more than the brazillian.
Where is this place? is it by McDonald's? Do you need an appointment?
Lauren---it is right before/after, depending on which way you come, near the road that has the bowling alley/car wash at the end of it. so if your coming like from Nicols it is on the left right before the carwash in a little strip mall. I have the number....I usually make an appointment, but you can probably pop in during the week.

she is in hampton bays though

Didn't feel a thing!
And no one showed me the strips or commented on my appearence, nor did they put their fingers where they aren't supposed to!

I have to say, I kind of disagree. but I'm only speaking from my experience only.
I got it done the first time 3 years ago. Now, before I went, I was literarlly terrified. I havent even gone to the gyno yet, so I was scared to show anyone my hooha.
Honestly..it wasnt THAT bad. AND i went to a nail salon. 3 years later..i still go to the same place!!!!
i hold my breath, need a fan on my head, and take an advil and talk w/the nice chinese girl. lol

i went to get that done once, ONCE, based upon a bet i lost with my DH
never again
i felt like a child being so naked down there!
i have to say it didn't hurt as badly as you described, and they didn't go in the back door (can't remember if she asked, i would've said no). I had it done at Bliss spa in the city
but i still decided i'd never do that again. just not my thing
thanks for the laughs though!

this was hysterical to read!
i used to go to a salon/spa in NY and always had a great experience...
but now that i moved i am afraid to try a new place (especially in a new state where i know nobody to ask for a recommendation), so i made my husband start giving me a sorta brazilian/sorta bikini wax! 
it beats paying $60 every month and i instructed him very well, there is just no way i could pull the strips myself!

I just shave down there. If I were to do this I wouldn't go to a nail place. I would go to an accredited spa like Bliss etc. where they specialize in this, lol.
