If your child is ntot in daycare do you still intend to get the flu shot?
DD is 6 months (today!) and she has a doctors appt on Friday. I am assuming they will want to give her a flu shot. She will be going to daycare in 3 months...do I get it now or wait? I kind of feel like she is still so little YKWIM?

DS is not in daycare and I decided not to give him the flu shot. At his 6 month and his 7 month appointments, no one even asked us if we wanted to give it to him.

Yes, DS got it last year and this year. Though not in daycare, he sees other kids and goes to playdates, and obviously stores and restaurants.

I will get her the flu shot whenever she can get it. ( I guess next year)
She has 9 cousins in school right now, I don't even want to know what they are going to bring home to her!
ETA: I would only get it alone, without other shots that day.

I would get it now...If she is started daycare in 3 months, that is peak flu season and it will be too late to get it. It takes weeks for the flu vaccine to kick in ...DS got his at 10 months old. He isn't in daycare, but he is out and about...

at that age they will need two shots at least a month apart
also when i decided to send my son to daycare - i also added in the rotovirus vacine

DS has an egg allergy so he cannot get the flu shot, if he didn't have the allergy I would give it to him because of his history of RSV.
I am PG and will be getting the flu shot, although my OB suggested waiting until the 2nd trimester.

i agree. it comes in two stages so once you get the first dose, the second does isn't for a month so i would recommend getting it now, especially if she is starting daycare soon.
my DD isn't in daycare, but i am having her get it. we go to a playgroup and are always spending time with friends. who knows what everyone is carrying, so i'd rather be safe than sorry.

when DD was young she wasnt in daycare (she gors to prek now) but she still had the flu shot every year.

My dd is 8 months and not in daycare and will get it. My older DD is in kindergarten and I work with babies alot, so we all get it.

My kids aren't in daycare and I got DD her flu shot (DS is too young).
They're still going to be out in public all winter long, and around other kids who are in daycare/school.

No one in my family has ever gotten the flu shot, but for some reason i felt like I should get it for DS. He's not in daycare, but he is in fact around ALOT of kids and other babies, so I figure rather safe than sorry. DH and I are also getting ours this year for the first time as well.
