Spinoff to flu shot..Does every child get it in two doses?
We are supposed to get it in December at his 9 month check up...but i just called to ask my doctor and she wants to split it into two doses. She told me to come in now for the 1st does and then in 4 weeks for the 2nd...
Is it effective after the 1st dose?

If it is their first time getting the flu shot, they have to get the 2 doses. Then all the following years, it will only be 1 dose.
At least that is my understanding of it.

that's correct. the second is merely a booster.
sorry for the double pricking!
i don't think my girls are going to get it this year, i haven't fully made up my mind though.

my ped said b/c it was Kaydyn's first time getting it and b/c of her age they split it up in two doses. She got the 1st at her 9 month appt 2 weeks ago and goes back the beg of Dec for the other half.

Mine did. He received the first one at his 6 month visit and the second one he will get in December at his 9 month appointment.
