If you drink soda ...
I don't drink soda normally, but when I do, I drink regular (as I was typing this, all I kept picturing was the dos equis commercials  )

I'll only drink regular coke-- I try not to drink it too much. It's so addicting though!

Way too much diet soda..
I tried cutting it out of my diet. I failed big time. when i am PG is the only time i severely cut back on it.
I saw Dr. Oz a while back where he claimed it does not cause cancer. The worst it will do is trick your body into thinking its getting sugar and when it doesn't, you crave sugar...so i thought "well if dr oz thinks its ok.."
LOL. I know he is not the end all be all, but it did make me feel better about consuming it.
I used to drink a ridiculous amount. Like i'd buy a large 7-11 cup and fill it up in the morning and have more later on...
Now i have about 2-3 cans/day. Which is still a lot, i know, but its wayyyyy better than how i used to be.
I got addicted when i started WW and was losing weight. it was my "thing" that made me feel like i was getting a treat and kept me from snacking.

Regular soda, only 2-3 times a month if we have a party or similar. Never diet soda, don't like the taste or chemicals. We rarely have soda in the house

I've tried to cut soda out entirely. But when I do have it, it's always regular soda. Besides not liking the aftertaste of diet soda (ick!), I try to stay away from artificial sweeteners.

Nothing beats regular coke, cherry coke or dr pepper with ice in a tall glass. God I love soda. But I've been limiting myself to a couple per week. Certain foods I NEED to have ice cold soda with.

Neither they are both horrible for you. You are choosing between sugar/calories and aspartame which is poison. Water please !

Cut soda out completely and I don't miss it one bit. DH has it once in a while and will offer it to me. When he does I always turn him down...again it's not a missed item. When I did drink soda it was always regular. Aspertame causes migraines (and kills brain cells, has been linked to certain cancers, etc). I am interested in why a neurologist would actually recommend taking it as it is a known headache trigger. Not doubting you, just curious as to the rationale. Ive heard pilots can not drink diet sodas because it is known to cause visual disturbances. If I have aspertame or MSG I wind up losing my vision in one eye and go numb on one side of the body and have a horrible headache. I wind up in the ER.

Neither. I cut soda out of my diet completely almost 8 years ago and only drink seltzer, water, iced tea (occasionally), and OJ.
When I did drink soda, I always drank regular because I can't stand the taste of artificial sweeteners. There's no way I could go back to drinking soda now though. On the rare occasion that I am accidentally served Sprite or 7Up instead of seltzer, I want to vomit because it's sooooo sweet

Diet. Down to about a can a day with lunch. Weaning off it slowly... Switching to flavored seltzer. I won't go cold turkey and I will allow my self a diet soda here and there. I'm just trying not to buy it for home consumption.

it's my HUGE weakness
i don't drink coffee though, HATE water, and i will drink juice, but don't get the caffeine kick

Diet. I do not drink a lot of it anymore but it is the last bad habit that I have. I do not drink or smoke. I've never smoked cigarettes.
Diet Coke (not sure about other diet sodas) blocks your body's absorption of calcium, which is obviously terrible for old age. I also believe strongly that a person's teeth will darken more quickly if they drink colas. Sure there are cosmetic fixes for that but it's not the best way to go. But, in spite of my little speech, I do still drink it.
I do NOT count soda in my daily water consumption. I am great about consuming tons of water, not that it helps to wash away the soda but I do not consider soda to be hydrating or like water.
I drank regular Coca Cola for a few years.
My 5 year old has never had soda. I never did as a child either.

i used to be addicted to diet coke for years. traded it for coffee. managed to quit coffee and nwo i just drink a cup of tea every day. i absolutely love regular coke now and will drink it occasionally but it makes me sick

Always drank regular. I don't like the taste of diet anything.
I gave up soda for lent this year and still don't drink it regularly. If we're out to eat, I'll sometimes order it as a treat but that isn't very often these days.

I drink tons of water or flavored seltzer in between.
I hate regular soda. It's way to sweet!

1 can regular soda with my lunch during the week. I don't like the chemical sweetners in diet, and found that when I did drink diet, I craved more sugar.
I occasionaly have some regular ginger ale in the house.
I also drink juice cut with seltzer or sparkling water.

I tend to drink diet because I don't need the extra sugar, but if I am out sometimes I crave a regular soda.
I drink soda maybe once a week or so.
