Apparently it really bothers my DH that I never changed my name 
Tell him if he's so bothered about not having the same last name, he's free to change his to yours!

I had no intentions of changing my name. I had also contemplated going by my maiden name professionally and using my married name personally.
However, DH was soooooooooooooooooo bothered by it, that I caved and changed my name completely to DH's last name when I took a new job (about 6 months after we got married).
Honestly, I sometimes regret not keeping my name, especially for professional reasons because everyone I went to law school with and at my first job knew me as Kristin Maiden Name. I also have an article published under my old name.
But I knew that if I didn't change it, I would hear about it for the rest of my marriage so I just did it.
I do have a very nice new last name and it is starting to grow on me!

The hubby doesn't care. I'm eventually going to change it, just keep my last name professionally.

mine doesn't care too much... he did say he would like me to change it before we have kids though so that we all have the same last name. i'll probably do that.

I kept my maiden name as my middle name - mainly for professional reasons. My engineering degrees and license is under my maiden name, so I wanted to have my maiden name some where in my name for that reason alone. My social security care is Patricia MaidenName HisLastName. Socially I use his last name.

I kept mine for over a year. DH didn't mind and understood he married a self sufficient wifey. I took it after we bought the house together hyphenating and signing at the closing would have been a PITA

I did not have a choice in the matter, my husband made me change it! there was no option about
Stacey mylastname-hislastname, and it would have been way tooo long!!

I haven't changed it yet because it took us SIX MONTHS to get our marriage certificate (it was misfiled with the wrong agency & floating around Albany the whole time). He was ok in the beginning, but I keep finding reasons not to go to SS yet, and I think he might be getting a little ticked off. I "unofficially" go by my married name, though.

Nope, he didn't mind at all. Where he's from, women don't change their name so it didn't make a difference to him.
