I saw my Dad at the hospital today
He was asleep the entire time, and I didn't stay long because I'm still a little nervous, but nonetheless, it was still very nice, comforting and reassuring to see him, albeit tremendously sad. And while I was there, the nurse paged the doctor so I was able to speak at length with him and made him promise to call me everyday with a progress update. It was hard as hell, but I'm glad I went.

Apparently the gangrene had infected his bone, and that's why it was spreading so quickly and they had to amputate more. They amputated up to his knee, and now we wait for the test results to determine if they were able to stop the infection.
He is devastated, but understands it was either the amputation, or his life. He will have a very tough road ahead of him, and I can only hope he finds the strength inside himself to keep going.
