We had the same problem, didn't want DD riding her bike with a double yellow line.

I chuckled out loud when I read this...see my post last July hating house hunting . We found our house a month later.
It'll be ok, you'll find it.
Are you willing to look further than where you are looking now?

love it.
love that you are being discerning...that you are looking for the RIGHT thing and sticking to your guns.
love that people are inviting you into their home and showing you something they (most likely) love and put a lot of themselves into.
don't look at each house that doesn't quite fit as a disappointment but as a stepping stone, taking you closer to the one that does.
if you start to hate it, it won't be pleasurable. and it should be.
you are looking for your HOME. for your family and your life. enjoy the ride as much as the destination...even if some of the ride has popcorn ceilings

 I remember feeling that way RIGHT before i found "her"...your house is out there! Its like finding a husband, you gotta kiss a lot of frogs :)
We went to at least 60 open houses till we found our house, it gets exahusting. Try taking a weekend or so off, with NO house talk, no showings etc.

We looked at at least 75 houses before we found ours. Believe me we had to really see the potential in our house at the time. So keep looking, don't give up. Maybe widen your search some if you can. It's out there. Take a weekend off and don't talk about it or look online for anything for week. Your  is out there, you just have to wait for the right one to pop up. GL!

I HATE it too. We've been outbid twice, and rejected for a few other offers and they were well within 10% of asking.

I agree with this too. We took off this past weekend and this weekend coming up and the following weekend because we are busy and we really need the break. It was fun in the beginning but not anymore.

i LOVED it, i still do. i would go to any open-house anywhere, i love to see people's layouts, decor, ideas... i even like to see the slobs. i walk around and say to myself "i can't believe people live like this."
We went to a couple foreclosures a few months back and my kids walked around yelling "MOMMY! THIS PLACE IS MESSY!" or "IT'S GROSS IN HERE!"
i am glad that i am setting a good standard for my kids! at least i know that they wouldn't like to live like pigs!!

Im coming up to NY this week and Sat is my day with the RA. Im not looking forward to it. I think its more because I hate my RA. HOPEFULLY, I will find something.

Us too. We put a bid on one house that was 8% less than asking price and 4% less than a LARGER comp house sold for. We were told
"oooooooooooooh thats FAR too low"
My new REA said that houses are really moving b/c of the first time home buyers stuff, plus the town of babylon down payment assistance.

geez we really hated it too. We looked for 2 years and at least 100 houses......and probably a lot more too...not fun at all. - well maybe for the first couple of months.
Don't get discouraged, you'll find something and when it's meant to be it will be!

it's a buyer's market right? so where is the house for us?
We feel the same way. It's a real PITA working all week and than looking at houses every weekend! However, we're getting really good at determining if we even want to see a house in the first place. We only go to certain ones now. We used to go to every single house that was listed in the towns that we're looking in.  Exhausting!

It made me a little crazy too. It can be an annoying process, (and sometimes, almost scary when you see how some people live). But trust me, your house is out there.

I'm with ya!! we put offers in on so many homes and of course those famous words come out Oh they got there asking price!!!
Or we put in an offer and then no counter offer WTH so frustrating and looking at all these home while almost 8 months pregnant is not that fun anymore. Ok I'm done venting!!
