I had a scary morning yesterday
Someone tried to break into my house !
I woke up at 7am, walked into the kitchen to make breakfast and there was a man at the kitchen window( not lookign in, he didn't see me) I did a double take and for a split second I'm thinking' Do we have a meter reader coming today" I grabbed the phone, called 911,grabbed DD and ran out the front door. As I passed the kitchen, I could see him trying to open the sliding glass doors. I went across the street to my neighbors house ( whom I had never met- we just moved in two weeks ago).
Anyway, the cops came, got him
( yay!), arrested him and said I did the right thing.
My neighbors all said they had seen/heard him around 5 or 6 in the am, but didn't call the cops. At first i was like " Why the Eff not???" but then I realized it worked out for the best. If they had called, he may have run away and they wouldn't have apprehended him.
Anyway, so we're getting an alarm system today. I was really freaked out, there are so many what ifs that keep running through my head. Thank god we are safe.

Geez. Thank god you are okay. That is really scary. I cant believe you have only been in the house for 2 weeks. Thats a great way to start in your new home.

OMG - thank god you are ok.
You just reminded me that I NEED to start putting my alarm on. My mother stalks me about it and I always just yes her to death. I need to do it!

OMG...you're a hero!! A similar thing happened to me when I was around 20...but they didn't catch the guy So I know just how you feel...well, not really though--I didn't have any children then!
You'll see--the alarm will give you such peace of mind. Glad all is well!
