I got the best gift today...
A co-worker of my mother's called me today to tell me that she wanted to stop by with a gift for me...it was better than I had ever expected. She gave me a blanket that my mom made her son a little over a year ago before she got too sick. I remember my mom making it, I took her to the store to buy the materials and once she started getting more sick she wanted to make one for DH and I to keep for whenever we had children...but she just got too sick too fast and didn't have the strength. I was just saying the other day how I wish she would have been able to make that blanket...and her friend who I barely know showed up today with one for me. She said I should be the one to have it for my son... . It made me so happy...and sad at the same time. I still just can't believe that she died and I got pregnant exactly 2 weeks later! I miss her so much...

At my baby shower my aunt gave me a blanket that my grandmother had made ahead of time for my first child. I still cry when I think about it. Sarah sleeps with it every night, I think she loves it as much as I do.

I agree with Theresa - it was meant to be that you have that blanket.
It was beyond wonderful that this woman brought the blanket for you. I imagine that your mom had a hand in that. I'm so happy that you have it.
