I am so upset- my night keeps getting worse
Now my both my brother and sister hate me
why you might ask????
b/c I made the mistake of not thinking it was a big deal if Jake came with us the day before my sisters wedding for a pedicure
all of the guys are playing golf- which he doesn't play- and he just had an operation on his knee- so instead of him sitting in the car alone for 4 hours- I asked if he could come- I still don't think it's a big deal- but it is to my sister
(the rehershal is at 2:30pm and we live an hour away with no traffic- so now we have to take 2 cars I guess)
I was called selfish, classless and a bunch of other things by my brother - who I guess heard this all from my sister
how is that for motivation to finish all the stuff for her shower
anyone want to make 45 bingo cards- b/c I don't
I spent all day doing stuff for her shower- and I am not even close to being done - I used 2 vacation days for this- so selfish of me
how am I going to get thru this weekend now- I feel like everyone thinks I am horrible

I can relate. I too was the "selfish" sister who planned so much for my sister's shower and wedding. I spent many nights in tears over some of the stuff that was said by my own mother and sister about the situation.
You aren't selfish at all!!

Jeeze...at this rate, if you have a glass of wine for each thing that went badly today, you'd be drunk off your azz by now
Don't feel bad. She was just having a bridal moment where for a split second she may have felt like the attention was shifted. Weddings make us say and do coo coo things sometimes. As for your bro...I think he just jumped on the bandwagon.
You are an awesome sister for all that you have done
Now go have another glass of wine

Did you explain to him why you invited Jake along? If so and they still didn't understand I would give it right back to them! Why not, can't hurt they're already made at you.
Especially to your brother. Does he know everything you've done for the shower? How much has HE done?

They are being over dramatic. If they feel that strongly about it could DH maybe go see a movie or hang out at their home and watch TV while you get your nails done?
I'm sorry you are feeling so badly about this and they are making your life difficult

I did- and I was told Jake should drive the golf cart
I am wrong to think of my husband over my sister
the same sister that put her Future inlaws above my grandma, me, and all my aunts and uncles
how dare I consider my husband
this is all about my sister- I am suppose to shut up and do what I am told
meanwhile- I went above and beyond to make her FH feel apart of out wedding day- even though he was just her BF at the time

let me address this one also!
he has done nothing- he decided at the last minute to come up to NY and asked my sister to find him a place to stay - she called me flipping out- about how selfish he is
I took care of that- I didn't call him and scream at him- I called my Dad - who said there was an extra room where he was staying- and we fixed it
I am suppose to do everything- and NOT expect thanks or appreciation

What did you decide to do? Are you still going w/her for pedicures?
she already does choose him over us and always has
I still have to make it thru this weekend before I worry about the pedicure thing
but personally - since there isn't time to get both a mani and a pedi that day- I would rather just go to my normal place- which is $12 for both
but I should get up at 8am- drive out to LI - pay for a $35 pedicure
and then have my husband meet me at the rehershal
Jake said he isn't getting up at 8am to drive my brother around the golf course- and I don't blame him

SERIOUSLY...I would have told him, this conversation is over and hung up on him. I'm sorry this is happening so close to the shower. There's not much time to cool down and put it behind you and try to enjoy yourself.

there is no honor in this
I was so nice to my sister when she was my maid of honor
I paid $500 for her to get her hair JHS as her gift
I paid for her to get 3 hair trials with me
I am planning a shower above and beyond what she planned for me- I have a theme and went nuts today driving all over NY to make sure I had everything to make it perfect for her
now I could care less- which I guess is selfish of me- but oh well
