I am a Mom w/ a quick review of LIJ New Hyde Park
Lucas Paul came into the world on Wednesday January 18th via c section. He was in the right position but I hadn't progressed and because we did fertility treatments to get here, I didn't want to go far passed my due date I decided to be induced. Induction ended up not being an option, so we proceeded with a C section.
I arrived at LIJ for my c section and within two hours I was staring at my baby. The C section itself was a breeze. I received the spinal which was NOTHING like I anticipated and then before I knew it I was in recovery. I have had a lot of trouble with my blood pressure since the c section so I decided to stay a full four nights. I ended up being in the old wing of LIJ and it was amazing. I did pay for a private room, which I know isn't practical but when I saw the 4 person room packed, I am so glad I did. Having a private room allowed my visitors to stay as long as they wanted and my husband stayed over the first night.
The staff has been AMAZING. I can't imagine having better nurses and doctors around the clock. I keep having my husband bring them dunkin doughnuts just to thank them for being so amazing. I really wanted to breast feed and my morning nurse, afternoon nurse and the lactation specialists have sat with me daily. The new hospital looks amazing, so anyone heading there, prepared to be impressed with rooms and an amazing staff.

congrats!! other than 1 hiccup involving the 4-person room, i had a good experience there too. im sure the new building will be amazing!

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you! The new wing opens tomorrow, I am sure of it. It is so amazing, I can't wait to see the reviews on it!!

Congratulations!!. Im happy to hear the experience you had was a good one. Its far to common to hear of the bad experiences and working @ LIJ its always nice to hear the Kudos to those who deserve it.

Congratulations!
The same thing happened to my coworkers wife with NSUH - the new wing was supposed to be open and it was pushed back so she was in the old wing - I think it opened the day she went home.
