Thank you! Thank you! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Maybe you can add in the wind estimates to this thread so everyone knows when the worst is hitting?

I'm sure my thread will get pushed down with everyone who is relieved it's now downgraded.Chat Icon

I did add the link. I tried adding the picture, but forgot I can't do that at work. Chat Icon

Anyway, the link is better because people can choose from the towns. Thanks for reminding me about this link!

No. Ths storm isn't THAT much better. Just better. Medford is middle of Suffolk, not close to the water. If you are near a lake or river or typically flood, you will probably flood.

TWC keeps emphasizing that this is REALLY low pressure. Why is this important? Does it mean the storm will hang around lower? Does it mean it will spur tornadoes?

Ugh! I'm happy to hear most of this! I just want the rain to stay away till like 5/6 o'clock! If I can just get the party over and done (and the kids can go in the pool, and not so much in my house) I will be thrilled!!

The lower the pressure means the stronger she is, regardless of winds. We hope her pressure increases as she makes landfall now. Tornadoes will just occur. It's a fact of hurricanes. :(

I really wish someone would explain that this isn't a joke to my husband. He's being a total D1ck about helping me secure stuff.

Even I have stuffed the basement with stuff from my deck. Anything too big to bring in has been tied down.

Thanks, Kelly Chat Icon Chat Icon

Between you and my husband, who is originally from Florida, we are taking this very seriously at the JoanneAndJustin house.

Worst case scenario: We are prepared

Best case scenario: we have a metric sh!t ton of extra water... I'm on Weight Watchers, anyway... so it's a win/win!

It looks like there might be a tornado warning in this area...but the map is a little vague. Has anyone heard this?

There is a tornado watch. If it becomes a warning for your area, seek shelter in a basement or interior room. Get away from windows!

Tornadoes are typical within a hurricane. It's like hurricanes bring it all.

I feel like I'm living in that movie Twister.

Only, I'm not a heroine involved in a love triangle with Bill Pullman.

No interior rooms or basement Chat Icon I guess we'll hope for the best!
