How would you feel and please help me get over feeling upset
I am redoing my master bathroom after a leak on Halloween. I found a countertop stone I loved, and was told by the vendor since it was not a stock item I would need to purchase a full slab. I did so and then based the bathroom design around the stone. It came in and it is exactly what I wanted. They left it in their stockroom and many people saw it and fell in love with it. I had the vendor come out and template it where I am using the entire stone. They knew I needed the entire thing. The next morning I go into their office to do a final template layout, and the woman who I've been dealing with says to me they have had so much interest in my stone that they want to sell it to someone else. That someone else is willing to pay them more than I paid for it, so they want to sell it to them, even though I purchased and paid for the entire stone. I kept saying no. I kept saying you have my layout, you already know I am using the entire stone, and based my entire design on this stone. So I don't want to sell it to anyone, or just use part of it and sell it. Apparently, they promised someone else part of the stone I bought and paid for. I am mid renovation and just want to be done. Please tell me I am not wrong to be upset that they are trying to sell what I own out from under me.

WRONG??? You are not wrong. That is yours and paid for. If they dare sell it to someone else, you can sue them. I would be livid. I would take my stone and run out.
Edit to add, that even if you haven't paid in full and have a contract for that particular stone and have left a deposit, no one can take that stone away from you. I'm upset for you.

I flat out told them I would sue them if they don't deliver what I paid for. But my husband did not understand why I was so upset. Yes, there is I guess a bidding war on it. They have said because of the interest they are now going to make it a stock item, but I really don't care if other people like my taste, I just want what I paid for.

You paid for something.
You based your whole design around it.
They want to sell it to a higher bidder like it's some kind of auction.

You paid for something.

He probably doesn't understand because it's not a TV or surround sound system or anything a men would want. You fight for what you want and don't let anyone take what belongs to you.

Wow you are around some really really patient & passive people. I would be so livid my head would explode. None of this make sense and that place really needs to get it together. Let the other person wait until it becomes a stock item. Like wtf.

Agree. Get the stone. It's yours. If you can't get it, speak to a lawyer. As long as you have proof you paid for it, it's yours.

I have proof. It is supposed to be installed later this week. I took photos of it, so I know what it should look like. The woman I worked with was upset with me on the phone today because I would not let them sell part of the stone, but I am really annoyed with them. I used them before, including the same saleswoman, but this left a bad taste in my mouth.

Do not under any circumstance allow them to convince you otherwise.
That stone is YOURS; and noone else's. Otherwise, they can refund you triple what you paid for it in cash. That might be the only way I give in. But they will realize that offer sounds just as stupid as them asking you to give it back.
Pick up the Stone from the Fk'n Sleezes, and get yourself your own guy to install.
Not a problem!!!!

So then the entire stone is yours and not for them to sell to anyone else.
They are shit out of luck if someone else wants to pay more for it, the item is already sold. Let the someone else wait for new stock to come in.
I would be livid. Not a good way to do business.

Wow, what kind of business does that!? Do they have a fb page you can complain on or can you contact the better business bureau? If you ordered it and paid for it, it's yours! Why can't the other person who wants it also order the same way you did?

Where is this piece of stone as we speak? In your hands or theirs? How dare they now tell you after you paid that they want to sell it to someone else. If there is so much interest, let them order it for the next customers. If you already paid, it's yours.
And the nerve for the saleswoman to get upset with YOU. Please give us an update.
I would not do business with these people & tell them why once this is all finished.

I cant just pick it up. The slab is over 10 feet in length. But i will let everyone know how it goes. Thanks for all the feedback. I am glad my feelings were not off base.
