How many children did your parents have?
How many children did your parents have? Where were you in the order? How many years apart (if more than one)? and Did you like your position (as in, if you were an only child did you like it?) Pro's and con's of amount

My Mom had just ME.
She had a hysterectomy b/c of Cancer at 29.
My Dad had 8 kids, and Im flat in the middle although not too close to any of them, they all have siblings through their moms, while I dont.
I technically was an only child. I HATED IT.

I am one of 3 children. I am the only girl in the middle of 2 boys and we are all 21 months apart.
I forgot to add the pros & cons:
I liked having other siblings but in one way wished I had had a sister but also loved being the only girl. I never had to share my room.
My older brother always protected me....my younger brother use to always fight with me.

I am 4 years older than my sister and 12 years older than my brother.
Do you like your position in the family?
I like it pretty much.
Pros..
I got to make a lot of decisions.
I had my father longer before my parents separated.
I was always looked up to.
I liked being a second mom to them.
I like being "bossy" 
Cons..
I always had more responsibility.
I felt like I had to make too many decisions.
I experienced things first which was hard in a way.
I always wanted an older sibling.

i have a younger brother. we are 4 years apart.
being the oldest was ok growing up until he got to high school/college and was allowed to do things much earlier than i was allowed to. (mostly b/c he's a guy and not b/c he's the youngest.....)

So needless to say I was the baby
I never felt like I had siblings growing up since we were so far apart...only when I hit High School age did I start to relate at all...mostly about music, going to concerts.....and now that we are older it isn't as much of a gap...
I am so happy I was the only

I loved it - I was so spoiled bc I was a surprise. If my parents didn't have time for me, my brother or sister could play with me ( when they had the time).
Although, it did stink that I had NO ONE near my age ( not even cousins ) so I had a hard time playing with kids my own age that didn't just let me do whatever I wanted.

Since I never knew any different, it was fine.
Pros..
My older sister broke my parents in for us. Having a twin always meant I knew someone at new places.
Cons..
Not many. If any I'd say being compared to my twin.

How many years apart (if more than one)? She had the first five in six years, two miscarriages, then me six years after the youngest. She wanted to keep going but my dad said no way.
Did you like your position (as in, if you were an only child did you like it?) It is alright. Can't say I hate it, but can't say I love it either.
Pro's and con's of amount: I wish she had at least one more because the six years between the last and I is a big gap. They all had someone else to play with as they grew up. When I was six, he was twelve and wanted nothing to do with the little sister.

My parents just had me. Mom was 34 when she got married and 36 when I was born. She didn't really have the patience or energy for more children - and my father worked a lot so most of the child-rearing was on her shoulders.
Worked just fine for me - I enjoyed being an only child.

Pro's:
My brothers broke my parents in for me so I got away with a lot more. I pretty much always got what I wanted b/c I was the baby and a Daddy's girl. I loved having two older brothers to stick up for me when needed and they were both driving while I was pretty young so that worked out well too.
Con's:
Not really any. I would've maybe liked them to be a little bit closer in age when I was younger but now that we are older it is fine.

I stil hate it to this day ....
and although this pregnancy has been the worst imaginable, I will likely try again to avoid the only child stuff.
I felt very alone growing up, no one to talk to, I was alone alot..I spent a lot of time with adults.
i had great relationships with friends, cousins, etc, but always wanted my own sister or brother.
Today as an adult, I feel alone. If my Mom passes away and or when, I will be alone. I have no help in dealing with her, and when she gets older. I feel like its all on me a lot of the time.
I just hate it for so many reasons.

Two. I was the first born, and my brother was 2 years younger than me.
He passed away from Leukemia when he was 3, so I grew up pretty much as an only chilld. I didn't mind it at all. I never really felt alone or isolated. If anything, I think it's the reason I am so independent.

then 4 yrs later my brother
My brother had special needs growing up so it wasn't too much fun for me...I would have liked another sibling...but it was hard on my parents so now that i'm older i understand

I am the oldest....born in Aug '77, then came my brother Nov'78 and then my little bro June '81...Yeah she just kept them coming one after another. She wanted it that way so she could get diapers all out the way at once. She has a double stroller but wished she had gotten a triple stroller.
I personally don't know if I would do it that way.
I think 3 is a great number...DH is also one of 3 but he thinks 3 is better.

Don't you consider your Dad's kids your brothers and sisters? My kids Dad has fathered 5 other kids and they are my kids siblings.Just curious.{{{Big Hugs}}}} There is a 20 year age gap between the oldest and the youngest.They also lived with me at one time or another too.
I am the middle of three girls. One older by 2 1/2 years and one 4 1/2 years younger. I definately have "middle child" syndrome.

I am the oldest of 3
we are all perfectly planned at 3 years apart each- with in a month of each other
it was perfect- we were never in Jr high or high school together
I am married to an only Child- not his parents choice- he pulled everything out when he came into the world- so having another child was not possible for his mom
honestly- alot of our conflicts come from the fact that he was an only child- and I don't want to call him selfish- b/c that isn't the word- but he tends to look more to himself - while I am used to having other people to bounce things off of- does that make sense????

i was born sept 16, 1975
my brother was born sept. 12, 1977...
see a pattern here.
i did not like being the middle child. my sister and i were never close, we were too close in age.
