I "thought" it had to be over 1.5 miles.

I think it does depend on district. I seem to remember that one of the things people opposed in Levittown's budget this year was changing the distance for buses.

I'm sure if you call your district office they can tell you what the distance is.

It does depend on the district. Call the transportation office of the district you are looking at.

Depends on district. Ours is 1.25 miles.

I lived in Farmingdale and I believe it was 1 mile because our neighbor's kids had to walk to the high school and I clocked it once and it was a mile.

Depends on the district, and that year's budget. You can't ask your friend whose 25 year old DS went to that school, since it could have changed. Our budget passed, but it was posted that one of the options they would look into if it didn't pass was to increase the minimum distance for bussing.
