Anyone live in the Plainedge School District?
I moved to my house in Massapequa in January, and we are in the Plainedge School District. DS is far from school-aged, but a good SD is very important to us. I did a lot of research and talked to many people and from what I hear, Plainedge is a very good SD. Our neighbors rave about the schools. However, I understand that Plainedge had budget problems in the past. Does anyone know if they still have budget problems? Any other info about Plainedge SD - good or bad - would be greatly appreciated!

I live in N. Massapequa, Plainedge SD and from what I know yes it is a good SD but had issues in past passing budget. Last yr it didnt pass, that most after school sports were cancelled. It was pretty bad.
This yr it passed.
My DD wont be in school for a bit but its good to know that people are standing behind the SD now.

My neices and nephew live in N. Massapequa and are in the schools. Last year, when the budget didn't pass, they not only cut sports but many other things. My BIL had to pay someone to help my nephew with something to do with reading and math that was previously handled in-school.
But...they LOVE the school (parents and kids). That situation aside...they are very happy with the education their children are receiving.

Hopefully - and of course this is something that every school district faces each time the budget comes up. Plainedge is no different on that level. My BIL loves the school - budgets aside.

I am not in Plainedge SD (but right next door) and know that they are considered to be a great SD.
